This is from a guy in my DP who is a writer and reviewer for horror magazines. I've posted a couple from him earlier this year. "Ok..I do not have a news article on this because it was literally announced within the last hour. But I have heard it directly from his family members whom i am friends with on Facebook, Warren Murphy has passed away at the age of 81. Murphy was the co-creator and long time writer of the Remo Williams, The Destroyer series. The series comprises over 150 books as well as comic magazines from marvel comics, a TV Pilot and the 1985 Big screen film Remo Williams the Adventure Begins. One of the highlights of my writing career was interviewing Murphy a few years back in what he told me was the longest interview he had ever done. Since then I kept in contact with him and his sons Brian and Devin over Facebook. in fact i have a signed advance copy of one of the last Destroyer books that he wrote. RIP" I am posting this as fact, simply look for a link tomorrow. SC

Yes, okay hebephilia if we want to get technical... Weren't most of Rolf's victims adolescents too? I don't see why we shouldn't be picky technical. There is a big difference between being sexually attracted to teenagers who are legally minors, and being sexually attracted to prepubescent children. We have words at our disposal that distinguish between the two, and it is a great pity that the word 'paedophilia' is so carelessly bandied about. Why should our rich language be rendered increasingly imprecise? I don't mind going on the record here. I've always tended toward 'younger' women, my wife was 7 years my lesser (at 35) for instance. However let's not get carried away. I'm not talking about fahkin 12-yr olds here, but certainly 16-17 would have been my fancy, as I was 18 once too you know. Guess that made me a felonious peadophile in some eyes. Oh well. (As if). SirC

    Life Is In Your Hands

I think the idea of this thread is ok. Would have been slightly better (to me) to ask if you could save 1 person from your personal DL and forfeit the points, who would it be? IOW who gives you the greatest guilt for including their name? Please don't start a thread, I just put $0.02 out there. If BB King could have been immortalized I'd have seen it was done. SC

Timely, as we just had a discussion that conclud d no one dies of Parkinson's. I'm no doctor but I call bullshit to this obit. No one ever shook to death. They were weakened which allowed other processes to ravage the body. Someone in the medical community prove me wrong. Aside, RIP I was like 6 when we saw The Love Bug so Dean was an important actor in my youth. SC

    The Monkees

Aye, and fairly chipper they were, also revealed they always invite Mike Nesmith to join them but he's otherwise engaged writing a book (and sitting on his Tippex fortune!) Maybe Michelle Phiiips should throw her lot in with the surviving Monkees in some kind of sixties extravaganza show. From what I understand (as the son of a major Monkees obsessive), while Nesmith really does not enjoy playing with The Monkees per se, he feels he has an obligation to their fanbase to play and doesn't feel it'd be right to rob them of the chance to relive their childhoods. I don't know if that's charming or arrogant really. Not knowing the veracity of that comment, but presuming it, could be that he came from money and the others didn't and over time it simply wasn't his primary source of income (did his mother/parents die yet?) and I can understand some dissociation on his part vs the others.
