That just shows you, the randomness of life. They're always telling us "Anyone can get cancer"And certainly, anyone could have wrote that film! Anyone (but Dr Z) could have WRITTEN that film as well. SC

like the beauty queen thread Wrong dumass there wasn't one. Now if I chose to start a thread for a particular pageant winner then yes that would fit the paradigm. Better luck with your future analogies. SC

Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?

Her daycare has had a couple field trips to this theatre including two weeks ago. It's goddamn maddening. Boy you'd think Acadiana would be about the last place in Murica for this bs. "It can't happen here" (Zappa, "The Illinois Enema Bandit") SirC -

Hmm, apparently Chester wasn't the last. I have this on Bahe Ketchum, 96. http://www.abc15.com/news/region-northern-az/other/navajo-code-talker-bahe-ketchum-dies-in-flagstaff-at-age-96. Was Bahe the last? I'm not speculating. The mystery intensifies with another Navajo code talker, Kee Etsicitty, dying at 92 on July 21st according to Wikipedia: http://www.kvoa.com/story/29600997/navajo-code-talker-from-new-mexico-dies You know, after a fair number of pints I have been known to speak Navajo Code. I believe a very wise and astute member going by YoungWillz once said, in reference to a person who can be placed in numerous categories, "their nationality should be a last resort." Planes Trains Automobiles was a natural landing place for Overdijk, who has cashed in his chips. SC

I knew this one as Mr Dale has toured the US as recently as a year ago. That said, and not from lack of trying, I've nay seen him to date. Along those lines, Buddy Guy is in town this weekend, but $60?!!! Looks like I'm passing. Go ahead call me a cheap fuck, but c'mon that's ridiculous.SirC It depends on who's paying. 10 years ago I paid a total of $54 to see B.B. King, Etta James, and Al Green. If it's the Blues Festival that Buddy is playing in, the additional bands / acts might make the $60 seem a decent price to pay. Oh sure a lineup like that would be super. No he's alone playing a casino holds maybe 1000-1500. SC

LupitaTovar who turns 105 on Monday is the oldest living actress. Glad it's noted in a Don Rickles thread SC

It doesn't matter if he/she is the greatest most widely known and heralded as the pinnacle of voice actors. Why you people feel the need to peel off individuals from existing threads can only be explained by the need to see your name in lights as the starter of a thread. Sir C

Suicide, right? Meant to post this too: Heroin overdose killed Ayala. http://www.boxingscene.com/autopsy-confirms-tony-ayala-jr-died-heroin-overdose--93374 We shouldn't have disparaged his name by flippantly linking him to steroids. SC

Josh Greenberg, Grooveshark's co-founder now found dead at 28. http://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2015/07/20/grooveshark-co-founder-josh-greenberg-dead-at-28/ Why is this posted in a thread about legally-created entities rather than CEO thread about humans? SC

Otoh names like Bouteflika who were secreting away twice to foreign lands for medical treatment in late 2014 seemed like stone cold locks only to appear horribly poor choices a few months later as the dust settled. Hey, it's the reaper, no tellin. I know I regret putting him on any of my DP lists much less getting sucked into putting it on all of them. Grrr. Still, Abdullah and Bianchi aren't chances you take leaving em off. SC

Oh no, I've seen it, it's out there somewhere. SC

Posted two days ago in my DP, figured news was old hat, but the ball has been dropped I see. According to a Facebook post from his brother, comics professional Paul Kupperberg, (Marvel etc) veteran artist Alan Kupperberg has passed away of thymus cancer at the age of 62. Betty Wright, the above Jim Wright's wife has now also died. She was 91. http://www.kxxv.com/story/29578307/betty-wright-wife-of-former-us-house-speaker-dies-at-91 If living without her husband is wrong, she don't want to be Wright. SC

As we close out July, the death of F1 racer Jules Bianchi brings the number of audaciously poor misses to three (IMHO); King Abdullah, Terry Pratchett; and Bianchi. All 3 were know to have medical issues on Dec 31, 2014, so no 20-20 hindsight necessary. Of the three Bianchi seems the worst 'bust' by the Committee. He drove into a crane. He was never going to come back to normalcy, or even get off machines. It was beyond fucking obvious. But alas, the Committee takes pride in lining up as many 95+ year olds cuz that takes talent. The only possible chance Bianchi would see 2016 was his parents not pulling the plug. Even in non-euthanasia France, the likelihood of that was wafer thin. Way to swing and miss, Committee. Bill Arnsparger, who coordinated the "no-name defense" of the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins, died Friday, the team confirmed. He was 88. Born in Kentucky, Arnsparger was a graduate of Miami (OH) University and a World War II veteran. He saw his most success with the Dolphins, installing schemes that gained widespread popularity around football and winning Super Bowl VII after an undefeated season. He soon moved on to New York, where he coached the Giants from 1974-1976, before returning to work with Shula again in Miami. After spending a decade in the collegiate ranks as LSU's head coach and Florida's athletic director, Arnsparger returned to the NFL as San Diego's defensive coordinator in 1992, helping the team to an appearance in Super Bowl XXIX in 1995.
