Sadly that's the only connection between Cornwall and the Stranglers these days. What a great billing! I'd love to see that show. Sir C

This one is rather sad. Something else must be at play here cuz less than a year from diagnosis to death from ALS in a 63 year old seems quick. Anyways, RIP. SC

Seriously, could you have found a worse photo of Sam Simon for the DL homepage? It hardly looks like him. For all I know it isn't. SC

Ok seeking real DP advice. In 2 days I can swoop and scoop up a name to add to my team, and the two names I am kicking around are Oliver Sacks or Daevid Allen (only two 'sure' 2015 bets who are available). Which would you choose and am I missing someone altogether perhaps---mind you there are 86 teams so finding a name not selected already is rather tough. If you don't want the world to know a name you would have me consider cuz you play on a league here, PM me it's our secret. Thank you in advance. Sir C.

Not to heat up the discussion of whether most of the posts in this thread are merely coincidence, rather I post this as a primer for what is without question (in an Œdipian sense) 'irony' on a couple levels. It's 10 months old or so but no matter. I rather like the term used in the article: 'disturbingly coincidental', and I think it sets apart nicely what is irony and what isn't. In any case, enjoy....it's from the good side of the Pond after all. He has his own thread, so there's no need to mention him here. I still think it's a pity that this thread isn't inclusive. It should be a useful reference tool, but as things stand, it isn't. It's a discussion thread; not meant to be a reference tool Says who? YOU? Your sentence is completely the opposite of the truth. SC

As I stated in my league, after 5 hits, I may be done for the year'. Likewise, this DL hasn't a medical disaster beyond Zsa Zsa on it and who knows where that's going. Sam was obvious choice for #2 so I/we got that right. Too obvious. But this DL may well be done for a few months at least. So with no medical problems anywhere on this DL, I am going back to my pick for #1 death that didn't materialize: Al Molinaro. No basis for that pick whatsoever.... At least he's bedridden with Alzheimer's and 96. I'll take that package to the bank. Sir C
