It's been a long day, but I write to update and to confirm that my mother died around 9:50 EST today. I could literally type the entire first post of this thread by Hein, as it describes everything that happened to my mother as well, she being 84 the only difference. I live in Louisiana and had JUST visited her in Detroit with my 4 yr old daughter Dec 30-Jan 5, and although frail, she was lucid. 13 days later she is gone. It had been 10 months since our last visit and I honestly think she held on to see us one last time. Who knows.... maybe death just happens, I haven't the answers. She was the most selfless human being I ever knew, and it was sad to see dementia/Alzheimer's take it's toll the last couple years. Enough babbling from me. Sir Creep

Magic Johnson, And Other Basketball Players

I should hope coaches go here too. Bob Boyd who had the misfortune of coaching at USC while John Wooden was at UCLA has died at 84. Sir C http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/01/18/sports/ncaabasketball/bob-boyd-who-battled-a-basketball-giant-dies-at-84.html?referrer= -
She was 77, my bad. Or 75 if you believe her amended DOB and the obit in NYTimes saying she is 75. SC

Well Windsor, guessing the trappings of DeathList have kept you from participating in any Dead Pools given that comment. THIS is the only list that ignores the 100-age scoring, and in fact there's no scoring at all just raw numbers. So if she is eligible at all it's here. Virtually EVERY DP has the rule you can't be 'notorious' simply cuz you are going to die soon. Thus, Ethyl would be eliminated as would any 'Oldest' person (as is Lauren Hill or the late Sam Berns). Secondly, with scoring at 100-age, who the hell would use a 110-year old and score (-10) when they die?? No one in any DP that's who. Note that DeathList was the only place where Luise Rainer at 104 was lauded as a 'successful' pick. SC

I know I'm new here etc, but my mother who has late stage Alzheimers now has a couple aggressive tumors on her kidneys which have basically shut down. She is 84 and a saint, and has perhaps a couple weeks to a few days. Will update when the time comes. Sir Creep

Her condition has deteriorated-she's now said to be 'fighting for her life' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2911356/Crime-writer-Ruth-Rendell-fighting-life-stroke.html She should get the Gordie Howe 'serious stroke' cure and the two can be on Dancing With the Stars next season.SC I....... don't think you're really familiar with how our NHS works, are you? Not only am I deficient with a few things here (yet) I've no idea what you just asked me lol :-| SC PS: but I'm trying. I'll catch on

As you see I have BOTH and I expect cooperation from both. In reality it's actually a very good question, but so long as the remaining Graham exits stage left immediately after the first one does, it's all good. To answer the question I went with age before beauty (The Reverend). Sir C.

It looks like the blog has died. :-(Pity. I got a FB group I created "celebrity death pool rumors and updates" but I do all the posting cuz I got lazy fuck friends lol. It's a public page if you want to see what's up. By all means join and post things. Sir C

Old age is bad for you.. Given that fewer than 50 per cent of deaths are caused by smoking and thereby greater than 50 per cent of deaths are caused by not smoking, it's safer to smoke. Old age is bad for you.. Given that fewer than 50 per cent of deaths are caused by smoking and thereby greater than 50 per cent of deaths are caused by not smoking, it's safer to smoke. Unless you are reading a different obit than I am, all we know is he died 'after a lengthy illness' (the obit posted in my league, http://county10.com/2015/01/14/the-original-marlboro-man-has-died-in-riverton-his-image-was-known-worldwide/) and/or 'no cause was given' (attached obit). It's quite a leap to conclude a) it was OLD AGE as well as non-cancerous. In fact, short of Alzheimer's and the like, 'lengthy illness' would point directly to cancer, and why wouldn't they just say Alzheimer's or Parkinson's etc? Sir C.

I created a FB group 'Celebrity DP Rumors' that is actually Public (so y'all can sign up) but I post 95% of the stuff. Some is my own daily research, a good hour a day, and some links from here cuz I can't do it all on my own. No need to make charts IMO, I'll just go back to January and read through all the headlines I've posted and help develop my 2016 list. Sir C.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive
Sir Creep replied to Catherine's topic in DeathList Forum
Two names I saw on other teams lists: Rona Barrett and Dr Ruth Westheimer. I'd have bet your life they were both long gone. I also saw a couple days ago the accordion player from The Gong Show, Milton DeLugg, is kicking it and still performing at 98! Sir C -
Not sure what to do with this story but ignoring it 'twould be criminal. Speaking of criminal, NASCAR driver Kurt Busch says his ex is a trained assassin who has killed drug kingpins! So it's a fringe celebrity and racing. Apologies for not having a proper location for this gem. Sir C http://www.freep.com/story/sports/motor/2015/01/14/kurt-busch-girlfriend-assassin-nascar/21749131/
