His daughter very recently said otherwise, and yes we know how biased some family gets when a state of denial takes over, but she didn't have an air about her of pulling wool over the media eyes; rather I felt she was just saying wassup with her pops. He lands in a hospital bed in a month or so, I will re-examine my radar on these matters. SC

More importantly he won't be dead for 1. Guy is touring like he's 35. It would have to be a stunner heart attack or summat taking him out, he certainly hasn't a health concern otherwise. SC

Only Famous For Being Ill And Dying

Still, it's pretty damned pathetic. New rule, not only can you not murder the person to gain points, but you can't promote the publication of an obit either, to me the person may as well have murdered them, seeing as it's a 2-step process for the 'hit'. What's the difference which step they indulge in? No difference, that's what. SC

    Crashing Companies

IHeart, the biggest U.S. radio broadcaster, is teetering ever closer to a default on its $20 billion debt load. The company skipped a $106 million interest payment due Feb. 1 on its 14 percent notes, kicking off a 30-day countdown to an official default. Creditors expect the company to file for bankruptcy by the end of the grace period, and are negotiating with each other and the San Antonio, Texas-based company to reach a pre-arranged plan before time runs out. Death Links

New podcast: Death 101 — Jessica Zitter talks about the realities of dying. "In October 2017, Zitter, an ICU and palliative care physician at Highland Hospital in Oakland, sat down with Amy Tobin, CEO of the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay, at the Uncharted Berkeley Festival of Ideas in Berkeley. Uncharted is a production of Berkeleyside. The pair talked about why we have to address the “End-of-Life Conveyor Belt” where the dying are intubated, catheterized, and die attached to machines, often without even knowing they are dying. Zitter also offered tips on how to have difficult, but necessary, conversations about death with our children." SC

After being diagnosed with colon cancer last spring, Kevin Jonas Sr. (father of the Jonas Brothers) announced that he is in remission. His story is in this week's People magazine. SC

    Political Frailty

Just an update: The Democrat (Linda Belcher) who Johnson defeated amid a wave of pro-Trump sentiment just reclaimed her seat in the special election by a 2/3 majority. This is Kentucky, mind. SC

Marilyn Horne's cancer was a decade ago, so unlike the rest of that list to my knowledge inactive for many years. Probably safe to say Ginsburg ain't living with pancreatic cancer presently. Can't speak to Remigino, have never heard of or seen that name til today (and I thank you). SC

    Nazi of SS

The grandson of a Nazi war criminal who appeared on the History channel on the condition of anonymity was in for an unpleasant surprise on Tuesday when his face was left uncensored for several seconds. The man, described as an “anonymous informant,” met with the hosts of the show Hunting Hitler, and showed them what he claimed were microfilm copies of the Fuherer’s last will and testament. While the man’s face was pixelated for most of his appearance in the show's Season 3 finale, one shot clearly revealed his identity in what appears to be an editing error. Viewers were quick to point out the mistake and took to social media to share screenshots of the man’s face. SC

When did they arrest him, dead of winter? It's Chicago....of course they'd be frozen. FREE AIUPPA! He is exonerated.

Oh yes. In fact we have a couple threads on this site about TV shows I have never been exposed to. Alas. But some regular fare like Black Adder, AYBS, Python, Goodies, Cell Block H, Corrie, some detective shows, a pile I am forgetting presently and a few I probably didn't pay attention to sadly. As well as lots of costume/period dramas that I have always enjoyed for some guilty pleasure reason....so if your actors were in those and crossed over to appearances in comedic shows or cinema or American TV, I know them at least by face (which don't help here lol).

Routledge and a fair number of Brit sitcoms/sketch comedy has been televised on PBS here in the States for decades, so that would be our entry point on her (and many others such as 'Are You Being Served' or in my day of the 1970s Monty Python). I was blessed being from Detroit that Canada was across the river and we just grew up watching CBC like it was one of our channels, so unlike many Yanks I have been exposed to BBC programmes a-plenty. We have a lot of piss-poor sitcoms and I would understand why hopefully at least 50% didn't ship to the U.K. Not sure which did or didn't of course. SC

    Ironic Deaths

A North Carolina coyote hunter’s electronic coyote caller was apparently so convincing, he ended up being mistaken for a coyote and was shot and killed. The victim, 26-year-old Michael Seth Marsh, was also the pastor of Russell Gap Baptist Church near Taylorsville. The alleged shooter, 31-year-old Matthew Dunn of Taylorsville, was charged with involuntary manslaughter. GDamn rednecks. Show of hands how many knew a 'coyote caller' existed? SC

    Philanthropists

St. Paul’s low-key, high-stakes philanthropist, John Nasseff — who started at West Publishing toiling in boxcars and later became its only top executive without a college degree — died at his St. Paul home Wednesday evening, just hours before his 94th birthday. At United Hospital, his donations helped build the John Nasseff Heart Center, the Nasseff Specialty Center, the John Nasseff Neuroscience Specialty Clinic and the Milton M. Hurwitz ExerCare Fitness Center. He also built a dental clinic in his mother’s home village in Lebanon, donated money to orphanages in several countries, helped with the expansion of St. Maron’s (Maronite) Catholic Church in Minneapolis, contributed to the St. Paul police and fire departments, the Mayo Clinic and more. I take it 'Facts of Life' wasn't a thing over there then? That was really her hayday, along with Diff'rent Strokes. But she did have a non-sitcom related career prior. But that would have been before even old Sir Creep's time.

We should keep an eye on EVERY musician who is in that 67-73 range, and especially if they eclipse that. With that let me remind you of someone who came up in conversation today, 75-year old Jean-Luc Ponty. Seems a healthy lad but he’s an outlier already. SC

She hasn’t any business having a thread, I’ll grant you that. Every Brit knows who Mrs Garrett is. It doesn’t get any more well known than ‘every Brit’ and that is a statistic I searched for and just made up to prove my point. Obit a lock. SC

Not completely sold on the latter but Chuck Yeager indubitably! Jerry Maren (96) should be included every year. Instead we get Joni Mitchell.
