12 hours has passed and I'm still fahkin pissed. Two names gone in three days. Rose Marie was quite a joy in the day, and saw plenty of her on the old black and white TV as a young'in. One of my parents' favorites. RIP That's ok, what the Reaper taketh from me from Hollywood, Hollywood giveth back in the form of a car accident, a person 65 years younger, and practically everyone's Joker for 2018. Go ahead, Reaper, take her in the next 100 hours too, I double dare you! SC

John Paul Stevens is a sitting US Supreme Court Justice, I can’t believe the responses to this list. He’s easily the most recognizable name on it, and more notable than at least half the EXISTING goddamn DL. Hope no one mentions cancerous Justice Sotomayor it’ll send Hamburgians into a tizzy. SC

Or outside of Buffalo. Lets focus on peeps not strictly of local interest, whether the UK, USA, or the moon. As for the newbie’s less tongue-in-cheek comment, that’s not a prerequisite. SC

Giving Jesus our blessings at Christmas is pious and good, but this is a little overboard. SC

Jerry Kindall, a former major-leaguer and the greatest coach in Arizona Wildcats baseball history, has died. He was 82. Kindall suffered a major stroke Thursday. He was taken off life support Sunday, and died at Tucson Medical Center. The UA confirmed his death around 9 p.m. Kindall was a Tucson sports legend and the first person ever to win a College World Series title as both a player (at Minnesota) and a head coach (at Arizona). His Wildcats won national titles in 1976, 1980, and 1986. Kindall was a "bonus baby"draft pick of the Chicago Cubs who went on to play eighth seasons in the big leagues with the Cubs, Twins and Indians. Kindall was voted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007 SC

Damn near 'Ironic Deaths'.....Stuart Wenham, who invented groundbreaking technology that significantly increased the efficiency of solar panels while cutting their cost, died on Saturday from malignant melanoma, age 60. Solar power.....melanoma..... I mean cmon. Had to see that one coming. SC -
How is King Michael significant to you? He meant nothing to you. I know....been through this discussion upthread. Sorry. Just boggles my mind. The rest of yours all make perfect sense. In fact all your honourable mentions all make sense but for December as well. Take your pills. SC

You know..... Larry may not be a bad pick, he's terribly death listy. Not sure it's his year, but when has that stopped the DL from inclusion? SC

Though I thank you for the reminder, this story reads (to me) like he is basically a nobody in the sport, maybe a 'local kid done good for hisself'? If by 'making the correct call' we are thinking whether he's a chance of getting a QO, then I agree. Unless the Bristol Post is on the list of authorities, I'm not certain at all the QO is forthcoming. I ain't buying he's Drop 40 if he is given 14 days to live this afternoon. I'm going to investigate though and see what play he got in QO media outlets. SC
