Maybe it took him that long to write his own obituary via a ouija board. In today's technological society, this sort of delay really should be avoidable. Perhaps Microsoft could do the decent thing and include a "Word for Ouija" add-on to their Office suite. All you need to do then is find a ouija board with a USB connection, plug it in to your PC and download your messages from beyond in no time at all.

Things to do while waiting for Death ... 2004
Moosey replied to Grim Reaper's topic in DeathList Forum
Hey, that looks like my Uncle Monty! He said he'd heard of a way to get cable hooked up for free & was going off to watch the National Geographic channel. (Or, as we call it, the Animal Porn channel.) Oh well, that's one less Xmas card I'll have to send this year. -
Ooooh, you had me scared for a moment there, thinking that the tubby talc-hoover wasn't going to make it to January. That's until I noticed that the news report is actually from last April.

Sorry, the link gives me a http-404 error so I can't possibly say. Do you want to give me a hint?? -
Serious Contenders for Next Years List
Moosey replied to Death Watch Beatle's topic in DeathList Forum
I'll leave it somebody else to suggest the very obvious Karol Joseph Wojtyla and take instead... Diego Maradona seems to have spent most of the year hammering on the self-destruct button. His family forced him into a rehab clinic in Buenos Aires, but he had that injuction lifted last month and has scuttled back to Cuba. I figure he's odds-on to go in the next 12 months. -
I would hazard a confident guess that the name you're after is "Dangerfield". Glad we could be of service. It certainly is. I'm off right now to sell some more copies of Socialist Worker whilst barking like a dog.

Everyone should insert their own favourite joke here about Teddy being UNemployable.

Things to do while waiting for Death ... 2004

You're not kidding. I can cruise through level 6 but then level 7 slaps me about, laughs at me & steals my lunch money. -
Queen of Albania, more like. Suits you, sir!

I think his English is too good to be any of those. I'll take "Canadian" in the sweepstake.

which Google translates as... "Metanse lqa death list in the ass pieces of pelotudos....yo I believe that you they are going away to die pieces d ehijso of puta... if them encounter I violate putosssss... and if I get to see a commentary but on johnny ramone them right of perpetual ownership that are going away to regret." That's clear as crystal then, although sadly lacking the brevity and succinctness of RK's interpretation.

Problem? Yes, I'm sure it was a constant disappointment for him not to have complete strangers recognise him & shout 'you dirty old man' in his direction about 100 times a day every day for the rest of his life.

On that score, we probably ought to change the job descriptions of Messrs Brady, Foot and Biggs then. We don't want any ironically-challenged people to get the wrong end of the stick.
-
Oh, I don't know. The thought of Ron being described as a "great US president" certainly raised a smile from me.
-
Oooh, you might be right. I'm sure Harry will confirm this for us when he posts his film review.
-
I never said you were Aussie. We* established colonies in various parts of the world, including the Americas. Australia was just a specific penal colony. Probably didn't get as far as California though, so I admit that we may not have actually colonised your bit. (*I say "we", but I wasn't actually personally involved. I'm far too idle for that sort of thing.)
-
The trailer for the colonial market is completely different to the one we had here in Blighty (see it here). Interestingly (or perhaps not), the film itself has also been tweaked too. In the UK version, the LP deemed fit for throwing was Dire Straits, but in the US version it has become the Batman Soundtrack. Did Dire Straits not make it big in the US then?

Should Typhoid Harry have the poison frog avatar ?
Moosey replied to Stayin Alive's topic in DeathList Forum
At the risk of showing myself up as some sort of bumptious Johnny-come-lately, I (and probably others) have never seen the avatar in question. I would be wracked with self-loathing were I to recommend the image, only to later discover it to be unsuitable in some fashion. Can we get a butcher's at it please? -
Obit ahoy! King Kong's co-star dies in New York (Guardian)

I can't imagine that she wouldn't. Virginia Grey (silent movie actress I've never heard of) got a big obit in The Independent on Saturday. Not even Levin's corpse will keep Fay out of the newspapers tomorrow.
-
Is that any worse than a vicious misuse of "viscous"?
-
No. She hasn't. Now be a good boy & kindly desist from directing people to your personal site under false pretences.

Dead on Tuesday, buried on Wednesday. That was quick! He must have gone for the express service.

Sorry to bother you GR, but this closed thread appears to be fraying at the edges...

I liked him - I hope he comes back and rants some more. Although I was curious as to why he felt the need to qualify his Roman Catholicism as "Christian". I never knew there was any other kind. In the future, I'll be keeping a sharp eye out for all those Hindu & Halibut left-footers who have previously slipped under my radar.
