Political Discussions And Ranting Thread
YoungWillz replied to Deathray's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Starmer's praise for Thatcher is imo unlikely to go down well in Scotland. With an open goal as the SNP do their best to lose seats, he has handed them a lifeline. Once again, we see Labour's true colours here. They want to appeal to Tory voters and win in England and possibly Wales, then claim to govern for the whole country. I can see polls narrowing after this. -
Much better.

Good luck! There's no rush I assume, as you seem to be the only one who picked her here!

Right, points are only scored when there's a DDP QO. Have you got one, cos I have had a quick swatch and found nothing?

Season 5 participant, sometime DDP pick and Jade Goody's mum Jackiey Budden gets a wee exclusive write up in the Mail: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12804381/jade-goodys-mum-jackiey-budden-lives-flat-crime-estate.html Apparently living in a crime ridden area of Bermondsey, full of drug dealers. What, Daily Mail? After 13 years of a caring, compassionate Conservative government who crack down hard on crime? That surely cannot be right. Back in the limelight as grandson Bobby Brazier takes part in Strictly. And because the Mail decide to cover her.

This article says otherwise: https://beyondthejoke.co.uk/content/14205/tony-allen-died-dead Apparently he died today but held a wake for himself a few months ago. That joker.

Brigit Forsyth a hit here for @time.
-
Brigit Forsyth's turn as Thelma in Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? is a tour de force of comedic acting, imo. Never played for laughs, and all the funnier for it. A welcome sight whenever I saw her on the tellybox. Can't say I saw her in Still Open All Hours, as I dislike the original intensely (worst thing after Clarence that Ronnie Barker ever did imo) so I never watched the update. She's a Doctor Who alumnus as well - all episodes of Evil of the Daleks.

Brigit Forsyth QO: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67590697 Non-stop these days, innit?
-
Well, there comes 80 Brigit Forsyth. Probably the three remaining are fringing the radar now... Brigit Forsyth dead. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67590697

So, How's Your 2024 Shortlist Looking?
YoungWillz replied to Death Impends's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Well, now there is a 2024 Shortlist thread, I'll cross-post this here. With the death of Shane MacGowan, that's one less to consider for next year. I'd normally start the in depth research for TOTP on 5th, but I'm attending a funeral that day. My main team may resemble somewhat my existing team - subject obviously to raking through @Gooseberry Crumble's teams for those about to be dropped who will no doubt expire next year, lol. I've a couple of replacements which will surprise nobody. Comedy team. I'll probably drop Rhod Gilbert, but most survivors will be carried over. So I have 3 spots to fill, and I really can only think of two off the top of my head. -
Tony Allen, the "godfather of alternative comedy" has reportedly died: Founded the Alternative Cabaret with Alexei Sayle. Occasional scriptwriter for Spitting Image and Alas Smith And Jones. Appeared in an episode of The Young Ones.

Sandra Day O'Connor is a hit for me in the Time 100 category: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-67593879 Whilst I don't stand a cat in hell's chance of winning, 3 hits overall is about my standard. Call me content. Edit: Shared hit with numerous players.

Am I playing this? I didn't even know.

I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020
YoungWillz replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
As long as it is in extra-curricular, there is absolutely no need for this discussion thread or such like it in the main Forum. IMO. -

Didn't the purpose of this thread end in 2022? That's what the heading says...
