Went straight to George Layton's twitter account, where I thought there'd be such news. Nothing mentioned. (Though some recent pics of David Graham - surely not much longer there?).
-
Nooooooooo! If true he's off my dance card for 2024's Comedy theme team. Loved him, admittedly a pale imitation in places for Leslie Phillips, but some cracking performances.

Mike Yarwood another faller here @RIP Wee Jum.

I'm going to be controversial and say I've never seen a better impressionist than Alistair McGowan. So there.
-
Why not take the opportunity to find out more about Yarwood? There were other impressionists back in the day, but none were as good as him. Though by today's standards, some of his stuff was a little ropey. Known for signing off with his catchphrase - "And this is me". A whole series of sketches, he was especially good at the political figures of the day - but that all died when Thatcher became PM. Most of those he parodied are dead anyway. I couldn't pick Paris Hilton or Katie Price out in a room full of them, never mind half the rap stars of today. But I'm willing to learn about them, god alone knows this is part of Forum learning!

Mike Yarwood takes me to 10 hits here.

Cross-posting Mike Yarwood QO. A hit for my Comedy theme team.

This isn't a surprise to me. Somebody posted a photo on here of him with dear Dickie-O and he looked very much on the way out. Very much of his time. Unmissable TV back in the day. RIP.

Thoughts with you and your folks. I'm sure he had a life to be celebrated. So do that.

Something about what unites us rather than what divides us, oft quoted by that other twat Brendan Cox. I think we often get tetchy on here, but I'm getting too old for even being bothered with that.

My opinion of the whole gang of shysters from the late Cap'n down has been consistent from the start of his trip around his fucking garden. Self interested twats the lot of them. So more details emerge: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12491005/Captain-Tom-Moores-family-blame-watchdog-investigating-charity-set-lockdown-heros-huge-slump-income-report-donations-halved.html "Oh look, we might be ripping the pish out of the charity, if only it hadn't been investigated we wouldn't have suffered a drop in donations." Close the damn thing down, lock up these chancers and let's not hear from them again.

He was in Ukraine for mental heath conference, only to be whisked off to an air raid shelter: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/breaking-stephen-fry-rushed-ukrainian-30883190 Yes, Ukraine. Where next, Stephen? Afghanistan for a dinner party? A Mexican drug lord's dance at the town hall?
