So. Possibly dead. But definitely not confirmed. Except by the Ruskis. Those trustworthy Ruskis.

Hurricane and earthquake combo hits California. I'm looking at you Albert Hammond! -
Lillias Walker was also actor Peter Vaughan's widow, if it's of any interest.

Lillias Walker reportedly died back on 10th August: The menacing Sister Lamont in Terror of the Zygons. Scared the bejeezus out of me.

Guardian Obit for Marjorie Daw, singer with bands led by Don Smith and Oscar Rabin: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/aug/20/marjorie-clare-obituary Born Marjorie Turtle, this was obviously her stage name. She married the drummer Kenny Clare and is mentioned in his Wiki. She had been his widow since 1985. Apparently one of the backing singers on Helen Shapiro's Walking Back To Happiness (whoopah, oh yeah yeah).

Ah, you see that's where generationally, even only a couple of decades makes all the difference! I think the real question for @DeathClock is perhaps they have too limited a repertoire of experience, being on this site should make them realise that, and perhaps take time to read more, venture out into classic British and European film, music and literature, widen the life enrichment and learn more about the folk we talk about on here. (Well, maybe not the multitude of crazy Asians and Africans so beloved of some on here - my excuse is I'm too old to care enough ). Not only does that give you enrichment, it opens up your deadpooling options, if nothing else.

I mean, I knew Bill Gates had a dad. He must have done. Never heard of him though.

I mean I'm probably being an idiot here, but surely the way forward if to have trans categories in sports? Not necessarily separate games of competitions but integrated into the main arenas? Seems simplest way forward. Live and let live I say, progress, up the workers on Ilkley Moor or summat. -
Garry Adey, Union player former number 8 for Leicester Tigers, reportedly dead: https://www.leicestertigers.com/news/obituary-garry-adey He made only 2 appearances for England in 1976 in the Five Nations. That was a year that England were beaten by everyone and finished bottom. (Probably not just Adey's fault, mind).

It wasn't a dig at you in any way. In fact, grateful for the information. There's a more general assumption here that if they look ok, they have a decent chance of longer survival (esp in the over 80s). Which is the lie given by the immortals thread which is where you see the sickest frailest people outliving their healthier looking counterparts. So I don't care how much tap dancing Dick Van Dyke does and how great he looks, anything can happen at an advanced age. That's all I'm saying.

You know what I miss? Fox News. We used to get it here. I'm very much for getting some sort of balanced view, you see. Just so I can understand - you see both sides, no matter how crazy they are and make up your mind. If I understand right from various things I have seen, there aren't many who want a re-run and would be content with both major parties ditching Biden and Trump completely. In the event that these are the nominees, there's a huge gap in US politics for a third candidate who could conceivably prevent either getting the Electoral College votes needed. Obviously we don't want another George Wallace scenario. I hear something along the lines of "these prosecutions of Trump are electoral interference and the relevant prosecutorial authorities should be arrested in other states and incarcerated". I also hear a lot of disillusionment with America's support for Ukraine and the billions of dollars going there instead of being spent at home. As an observer only, it seems to me that both sides think the Republic is at risk if the other wins - in the political world. In the country, perhaps folks are more interested in their pocket book, their K401s (Have I got that right?) their mortgages, gas payments etc. I don't think they care about the machinations of the parties. In my view, whatever you think the successes of Trump are, the fact is he rode the Obama economic recovery for 2 years and did little in the year before COVID hit. Both Biden and Trump would be lame duck Presidents serving a final term. The two party system is broken, just as it is in the UK Parliament. So I do not know, America. My heart is with you, but I do not envy your options here. If both Biden and Trump for whatever reason do not survive the winter, who could be your choice?
