Shock of my life that Lennon's US immigration lawyer turned up on the telly, alive. Leon Wildes is 90 - showing his age, if still full of faculties.

Ok, ok so I'm very late to the party but what the hell? Personal opinions only, curtailed because I can't be bothered doing a full analysis. First Semi-Final Surprisingly the better of the two. Worst song: Croatia by a country mile. Bubbling Under: Azerbaijan, Portugal, Norway. Song of the night: Switzerland. Second Semi-Final Worst song: Plenty of contenders, I've gone for joint worst between Albania and Austria. Bubbling Under: Slovenia, Cyprus. Song of the night: Greece. Big Six: 6th: Spain - full of eastern promise like a twenty year old box of Turkish Delight. 5th: Ukraine - the message is there, it's just very averagely executed. 4th: UK - bitchy little number - Nesta won with a similar cuntish song, so it might do well - I despised it. 3rd: Germany - dunno why i liked this. But I did. But then I heard a ton of shit before it. It's pretty good actually. 2nd: Italy - rips his heart out to a ballad. Didn't make me well up, but the whole thing moved me more than the others. 1st: France - bringing back the golden age of cinema, a little Piaf thrown in, she's gorgeous. I didn't like the usual French self-indulgence, but it's best of the Six. This has to be the worst competition in years overall. In terms of stand out vocals, message and tunesmithing, Switzerland is my favourite. I had tears on my face. Silly old fool.

I don't care about her either way tbh. I don't think I've ever heard a routine or a joke from her in my life.

Welsh comic book cartoonist Chris Reynolds, famous for his Mauretania strips, reportedly dead:
-
I thought nothing could amuse and enrage me more in equal measure than Truss' reading at the Queen's funeral or Johnson's clumsy speech with Peppa Pig. But no, Sunak does it again - a Hindu preaching from the Bible like a fucking Christian at the Coronation. Admittedly a Coronation where the monarch swears to uphold the established Church and faith while bringing a divorcee to be crowned at his side, but nevertheless... Anyone at the Abbey not a hypocrite?

Norma Major unwell and not attending the Coronation today.
