Seeeeventh Heeeeeaven. RIP, what a funny warm chap he was.

I remember Maria Charles mainly for two roles - her turn in Bar Mitzvah Boy which I think nearly everyone watched and as Windsor Davies' cleaner in Never The Twain. She never made it on to any of my teams as (i) she could easily have died off radar yonks ago and (ii) her chances of being overlooked for a QO (possible still) - been bitten there before. I know, wrong of me probably on both counts, but I do like to know they are still alive when I'm picking them.

Wait. Sunak has arranged the evacuation of all diplomatic staff and their families from Sudan. Phew, that should be a great relief to all the British nationals left in Sudan who don't even have access to consular/embassy support at all. He's abandoned them. -

There will now only be one Less Patterson. Sad news, the only living great drag act of my youth is now Stanley Baxter. Impossible to believe he has gone, a clever man who took generation after generation under his spell with, what can only be described as, limited schtick - but never lost the ability to say something shocking without ever crossing the line of taste. A sad loss, compensated by the points I'll get for my theme team joker. Adieu, Barry, rest well - you earned it.

Losing her hair again, resigned to her "one-way ticket" and making funeral plans: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/linda-nolan-neil-sedaka-song-29777462 Don't worry Linda, you're on my team. That always helps survival chances. (Sadly though, it might not, given the story of this year).

Lest we forget... Raab was a do nothing interim leader while Johnson allegedly laid in intensive care, frightened to take any big decisions for fear of angering the blonde blob, contributing to delays in implementing COVID preventative measures. Raab was the Foreign Secretary who sat on his arse on holiday while Afghanistan fell, for which he was sacked. He responds to allegations of bullying just as you would expect from a bully - everyone else is wrong and he is right. Now we expect yet another reshuffle among this bunch of self-entitled millionaires, using the levers of power to line their own pockets or the pockets of their wives or local pub landlords. Could they get any worse than Major's sleaze ridden administration? -
Maybe he's just Gladioli in. (It's a very Scottish attempt at black humour). I've my headline all prepared for consideration. Well, he is my Theme Team Joker on the Comedy team.
