Good to hear, thanks for the brief.

This is a terrible place to put this imo , but there we are. Lady Antonia Fraser suffered a fall over Christmas and has spent time recently in hospital: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11592987/EDEN-CONFIDENTIAL-Lady-Antonia-Fraser-misses-concert-honour-spending-day-hospital.html Afaik, only @Pedro67 has actually coughed to picking her for the DDP this year. I'll leave it up to esteemed Admins or members to decide whether to open a thread for her (she is notable in her own right).

I don't recall exactly. Common humanity gives me the sense to have compassion for both, regardless of the circumstances. Haven't we all left the handbrake off or not fully engaged at some point? (Note, I haven't driven in over 20 years or so - cost of cars even then was ridiculous). Damn sure if it was a snowplough rather than a car, I'd have been extra careful. I care too much sometimes - my fault, and as I said, a little grumpy.
-
Now, I'm up too late and probably grumpy, but... Jezza runs himself over with his own snowplough and we are all shocked and concerned for him. (Probably rightly so). Brian Harvey ran himself over with his own car, and was decried as a total idiot. (Admittedly, he did lie about it). We British, huh? Makes me laugh and cry in equal measure on a daily basis.

Anyone bother reading the rules before launching in at their Majesties, the DDP Committee? *doffs cap to them, they are the the arbiters and decide solely* It's up to them. Phelan wasn't just a campaigner, she discovered the scandal, brought down the Government, was named in the BBC's Top 100 Women for 2018 etc. Anyway, the rules are clear here: 4. Have they achieved anything of note in spite of their illness? (ie did they raise shitloads for charity ala Jane Tomlinson, or now work for the BBC ala Deborah James, or got an OBE for their work ala Kate Granger, or helped topple a government ala Vicky Phelan). OK FOR NOW Now, I've no doubt Fornasier is a nobody. Probably even less of a nobody, had it not been for Chris Hemsworth. Laura Nuttall once went for lunch with Peter Kay. People, come on, look at it objectively. These are exactly the kind of cases who should be ruled out. If they are likely borderline, they are likely ineligible. Think - what list of even the barest achievements could you make for these people for their bio? Not up to me, but hey ho. And has no-one learned from the Diane Berbarian situation? You know what to do. Suck it up. And make a donation to their charity pages. Then let it go...most will accept the rulings made. Much love for 2023.

Only so far you can go with crossing your eyes and sticking your chin out while talking. Worked to a laugh track on his shows iirc, pretty jarring when other shows were going for the live audience. Plus Channel 4 comes along promoting the alt comedy scene and even though he was funny and new to us, he looked immediately old fashioned and out of date. Doesn't seem to have harmed him though. Really kept him off my teams for a couple of years now, as wasn't sure he'd obit. But it's a quiet time for news, so he might.

US comedian Kelly Monteith, who appeared many times in the UK and even had an eponymous TV show, reportedly dead aged 80:

His Christmas message secured his place on my TOTP 1987 team. I really feel this is his time.

Wassup with Stedman Pearson? Totally gave the whole family a 5 star clean bill of health on my researches.

Here's my team submitted and brought to Book (geddit?). Pope dying was annoying, added Kureishi. Nothing like the crazy DL Committee list, so I may do badly on the initial score, but who knows? This pick could easily have been Stacy Keach - younger but with a health history. I really don't remember Barney Miller much at all - and I thought I was of a similar age to DL committee members.
