You'd have thought, wouldn't you, that after Chancellor your priorities would be health and levelling up (based on the manifesto you make love to). Not a sign of an appointee in those positions yet... -

Old joke becomes new joke. What's a Hindu? Our next Prime Minister.

When did folk generally stop referring to the PM by their surname or "the Prime Minister"? (Not talking about among their own) They aren't your mate or neighbour. Comes across to me as Cameron 2.0, without a meaningless slogan or any idea of the future he wants for us. Also, recent former Chancellors haven't made the best PMs, have they?

Wait. Sunak also fined for Partygate, lied directly to Laura K in an interview, non-domming wife right up til he was exposed, worked for Goldman Sachs at the time they brought the financial crisis to our doors - that guy? Every person appearing in the last 48 hours has talked about a candidate to unify the party, bring the party together, blah blah blah. Shame they couldn't talk about the people, the national interest, or even a Conservative vision. It's the same old light a fire and try and put it out short termism. Gotta feel for Truss though, even her week's notice has been cut short by the looks of it. -

Can he govern though? 167 government ministers required. Even if he squeezes that, can he get the support of his MPs? He lost those by-elections. He'd have to go to the country. My advice to Sunak et al is to stand away and let him be crowned. That will destroy the party for 15 years. -

I think on comparison with the eligible songs, it was always going to die. I do like singing it. Folk like Rod and Slade have better songs to come...but I will refrain from trying to influence the votes. -

Not sure if it has been mentioned but why was this joker on holiday? Parliament has been back for 2 weeks. Let's not forget he had a holiday over the summer too, when his caretaker Government was doing nothing. Couldn't get his arse back quick enough though...within hours of me predicting exactly that. Obviously if he does get on the ballot, he'll need another holiday to get over this exhausting leadership campaign.
