Phil Read apparently died this morning according to statement from the family. You'd think he'd obit generally, but it seems rare for motor cyclists. TT races should get him there....

MSP Liz Smith (Conservative) looked like she had been slapped across the face at First Minister's Questions today, after asking her question and being given a lesson on the cost of living by Sturgeon. Wish I could have screenshotted it here. Yes, the Scottish Parliament is currently in session and working, while Westminster enjoys another break for the party conference season. At least the SNP are being held accountable for the Ferguson ferry contract shite, which the vast majority of folk sadly don't care about because they don't know if the Bank will own their house by January. -
Aye, in the current main opposition party.
-
Oh quite understandable, MSPs aren't all just glorified councillors or jumped up football referees you know. I'd have thought perhaps a Times obit, but a Telegraph one...on the back of the Trump Turnberry story for sure!

Stage Obituary for Simon Clark, long term stage actor who also had some TV appearances, including Eastenders and Casualty: https://www.thestage.co.uk/obituaries--archive/obituaries/simon-clark-obituary, b. 24 March 1949, d. 7 August 2022. Local death notice: https://www.stbrides.com/events/funeral-simon-clark/ Amazingly, IMDB doesn't even credit his Eastenders appearance, which you can watch here, playing the Bank Manager from whom Grant Mitchell is looking for a loan (round about 11 minutes in):

Well he said he wouldn't shut up or give a fuck, but Coolio falls from CBB Series 6, making him the second death from that series after Verne Troyer.

Death notice for Jennifer Jane Little (nee Osborne), daughter of Sir George Francis Osborne, 16th Baronet: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/259748/osborne Probably of more relevant import to readers here, aunt of the former Chancellor George Osborne. Unlike him, she was all in favour of Brexit. -

Also there is a Cledwyn Jones d. 21 October 2021; probate granted 15 March 2022.
-
Might it be this Cledwyn Jones who died in August 2020? Well that link didn’t work. Cledwyn Dobson Jones, d. 11 August 2020; probate granted 6 September 2021. Who knows, Jones isn’t exactly unusual.

Pound already down 2 cents against the dollar. I guess inflation could top more than 20 per cent, probably driven by the haves spending. Imports will cost more so the prices in the shops will only rise. When and if inflation falls, that doesn't mean prices will reduce. Literally nothing for the working poor or even middle incomes. Would not surprise me if there is an emergency meeting at the Bank of England sooner than expected, with interest rates going even higher in due course than the projected 4.75%. Top that with strike action and we are back to 1972. Buy some blankets and candles and a battery operated radio for this winter. Fiscally incompetent with a National Debt that might take 60 years to pay off. -
