New York Times says Scottsdale, Arizona for Dozier. Surprised myself, but there you go. Now, where did Raymond Briggs die? Lawdy...

Family statement quoted here: https://www.yahoo.com/news/legendary-motown-songwriter-lamont-dozier-134138004.html Died "at home" - hmm, other sources indicate he had homes in Los Angeles and Las Vegas annoyingly, my best guess is LA, but hey, could just put USA ha!

Darryl Hunt did not play on The Pogues' top thirty EP from 1986, so not a miss for my theme team.

Re the above I looked through my list of Dukes, Marquesses and Earls and noticed the demise of David Howard, 7th Earl of Effingham seems to have gone unreported here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/obituaries/2022/04/08/earl-effingham-career-naval-officer-developed-expertise-covert/

Dozier did scrape a November 1972 #29 in the UK with Why Can't We Be Lovers as a performer, but it's his songwriting I think will be forever beloved.

And of course the Rogers Greenaway and Cook seem to be going strong....

Neil Sedaka and Carole Bayer Sager had a few together...

Cross posting here news of Lamont Dozier's death: It's a tough choice to pick a favourite he co-wrote, but I am gong to run with Martha And The Vandellas Heatwave - perfection.
-
Of course, Dozier co-wrote R Dean Taylor's hit There's A Ghost In My House. (Among many many others, I'm trying to decide my favourite).

Will Travolta live up to the song "We Go Together"?

Well, it gets worse for the Committee, I've only gone and overtaken them with Newton-John's sad death. (Committee will still beat me I'm sure). Anyhow: YW - 5; DL - 4.
-
Olivia Newton-John a kick to my soft parts and also a sub hit for me here.
-
Didn't pick Newton-John at all here by the looks of it. Possibly a bad choice by me, though I get no points, perhaps it looks bad that I thought she wouldn't survive the year.
-
Olivia Newton-john is 5 for me I think. The cruellest of second halves of the year.
-
Yeah for me also, sad news indeed. If you are gonna go, go under a Olivia Neutron Bomb.
-
Been out today. Through tears, Olivia Newton-John is my first hit on my main theme team. Not who I thought would go first.
-
Odeadia Newton John. Some of us may remember her Eurovision entry for the UK, then Grease, then Physical, then Landslide etc etc etc. A lovely lady by all accounts, and yet another major death for 2022, which is really beginning to storm it second half. I will miss her. RIP.

Not sure how reliable, but report of Anatoly Filipchenko having died:
