There's a photo here of the lads: https://tribunemag.co.uk/2022/07/pentonville-five-1972-dockers-strike-industrial-relations-act Conny is in the centre, probably more 26 than 57 I'd say (everyone looked older in the 1970s ha!) Must be a report on the release of them say around the 27th July 1972 which was the day after their release.

DIVISION!!! Watched most of today's debate. Johnson will win it, but those lovely crosses in support of Johnson and his cronies will be brought back on every opposition leaflet in the country currently represented by a Tory. Thought Margaret Hodge and Jess Phillips really made an impact with their speeches. Basically, it boils down to the Tories still fighting the GE of 2019, and everybody else saying look at the state of us now.

Now we know why he tabled a motion of no confidence. Loves the sound of his own voice. Best panto dame ever, coming to a stage near you this Christmas.

RAF Brize Norton's runway has melted in the heat. Flights are suspended from Luton Airport due to a "surface defect". With all this, the passport office in chaos and normal flights cancelled for holidaymakers, the Government has been forced to deny that British holidaymakers are stealing the refugees' dinghies to make it across the Channel.

Laurence Broderick, UK sculptor notable for creating The Bull in Birmingham, is 87. Worth thinking about as he is being sued by his kids for £5m for cutting them out of his will: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11023901/Sculptor-87-created-iconic-Bull-statue-sued-sons-cutting-will.html

Sunak and Truss have resigned from tomorrow's TV debate. Without them, there would have been only one other candidate left. Time for Kay Burley to do an in depth interview with that person? Of course there is a no confidence motion today - the "we all hate Boris Johnson" candidates will vote for him to stay as PM. (Well, actually Liz (I love a bit of Kwasi)Truss loves a blond sex pest and he loves her, so....liar?)

Trust and Integrity. Badenoch: I've been so so brave in resigning from Government. And that Tugendhat is a little bitch who doesn't know how difficult my life as a Minister was. Tugendhat: I led in Iraq and Afghanistan and have persuaded changes in policy. Which counts for nothing apparently. Truss: I'm a wonderful person, I present like a poor man's Lady Penelope from Thunderbirds but I stuck by Johnson through thick and thin and he's picked me as the best hope for the future, like Princess Leia did with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sunak: I'm incredibly proud of my poor immigrant parents who made it rich at the expense of those who were born here, and I'd like that to happen in the future. Mordaunt: Everybody lies about me - look at the papers for gawd's sakes. I'm part of a team who will campaign as we govern (which apparently is chaotically).
