I briefly ended up chatting to him in of all places a gay bar in Glasgow. Think he was intending to do some charity appearance. Of course I had no idea who he was until he left and the bar owner told me who he was.

Death Notice for John Manningham-Buller, 2nd Viscount Dilhorne, aged 90: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/258109/dilhorne His sister is the still living Elizabeth Manningham-Buller, Baroness Manningham-Buller, the former Head of MI5, who I'm sure got her job on merit and not on some sort of nepotism.... The 3rd Viscount will be the eldest son James (b.1956) who may not trouble us for some time.

Interestingly, John Frankau got a write up today in the Guardian by Nicholas. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jun/29/john-frankau-obituary Includes some details of his mother and John Frankau's wife, Barry Wildblood (m. 1948) who acted under the name Jennifer Stuart. I believe that will be this Jennifer Stuart whose only TV credits are in Frankau productions. IMDB still has her alive, she died in 2010 from cancer.

Well, he came from Chicago to shag money out of English wine drinkers! Rather successfully.

Stage obituary for John Frankau, director/producer of many TV programmes of the 1960s and 1970s, including No Hiding Place, The Troubleshooters and Another Bouquet: https://www.thestage.co.uk/obituaries--archive/obituaries/obituary-john-frankau-director-and-producer I'm guessing he was 96/97. Heard that surname somewhere before? Yes, he was the father of Nicholas Frankau, one of ze British airmen in Allo Allo.

Reports coming through that American oenophile Stuart Moss, who with his wife Sandy founded Nyetimber in 1988 has died: An English sparkling wine back in the 1980s - who would have thought back then it would possibly be a success?

Anyone else noticed the ball boys and girls at Wimbledon seem to be dressed like those old criminals who had big bags marked "SWAG" you'd see in cartoons?

Never been to a Festival, never desired to watch any of them on the tellybox. Macca hasn't changed my mind about that, but I was Saturday night singing along until the early hours. The possibility of bumping into the likes of Steve Coogan or Princess Beatrice at these sort of events fills me with horror.

Time for an Ian Lavender v Mike Berry (last of the Being Served regulars) war! The fact ITV's Graham Skidmore gets a BBC mention but FW doesn't first, astonishing.

If Frank Williams has indeed died (and no reason to doubt it), @Handrejka joins myself and two others on a hit.
