Irish singer Patricia Cahill has reportedly died: Probably seen her in the kids TV programme A Handful Of Songs back in the day. Didn't quite make the Eurovision finishing second in her only national final. I believe she was on the bill during the bomb threatened Sunday Night At The London Palladium. Knowing his fondness for dressing up on the matters of the day, anyone else think Boris will take PMQs this week holding a huge flute and sporting a pink hat? Awesome night, it will take me all Sunday to dry out from all the Glenlivet I've consumed.

Randy Weaver, protagonist of the Ruby Ridge incident, now being reported dead: Think I remember this being covered in The Nineties documentary series. One of the many many problems in the US especially in the 1990s involving folks who believed the Government was invading their rights - and of course, guns. Have a PBS story:

You know, when I was growing up, the British Government was held to ransom by Republicans, bombing the cities and committing acts of outrageous terrorism. Committing valuable resources to Northern Ireland, and turning a blind eye to our soldiers' own heinous acts in the name of safety. NOW, they are held to ransom by Unionists, encouraging yet another breach of International Law by Westminster and the failure of the DUP to nominate to Stormont and the complete abrogation by the Tory Government to impose direct rule - total fuckwittery. Side note - Boris et al have shown themselves willing to breach international treaties and laws (and no wonder, they can't even abide by the laws they have written themselves). How can Sweden and Finland rely on his signature on defence and treaties? His continual quest for a photo-op distraction (you never see him opening a Weight Watchers, though, ha!) imo has put a Putin target on the backs of every man, woman and child in this country - Putin wouldn't nuke Finland for example, he'd attack the big boy holding the knuckleduster. No point in a Poker Tournament, some of us won't be here to see the end of it imo. -

Are you saying we should get our Roxx off? I think historically some named threads were used as repositories for other folk - Fordham for darts, Wilson Pickett for soul singers, etc etc. Was always thus and so shall it be until the end of time. Maybe?

Tommy McConnell, drummer and songwriter with the US band Skyy, reportedly dead: https://www.soultracks.com/story-tommy-mcconnell-skyy-dies Probably their best known hit Stateside was their 1981 #26 Billboard charting Call Me. However, not as successful in the UK, their highest chart position being #67 in January 1982 with the fairly anodyne Let's Celebrate (as New York Skyy):
