Alan Hawkshaw decomposing: -
When I picked Joe Dolce for my theme team a few years ago, I was hoping for the DDP headline: Dolce Late. Ah, times when I thought I could get a hit ever.

Reports coming in that Ally McLaws has died. I'll look into that. Edit: Just the one source on Twits, FB may have more if anyone is on that platform:

Now he is dead, Sir David Amess' murder belongs truly in this little used thread. I'll be interested to find out motives if any are proffered by the assailant. Too easy to speculate at the moment, so let's not.

Amess a hit for Sean, msc, The Old Crem and Grave Danger. Brokenshire and Amess within a week or so.

Uptick since people came out of isolation. No credit to anyone for crime numbers going down during a pandemic. If Ulitzer is correct, RIP to him.

I guess nobody talks about how much younger Gary Oldman was when he was a child.

Only when a public figure is there this kind of coverage (well, hey they are public figures). Stabbings are becoming more and more commonplace across the country. Most folk perhaps give a passing nod to the odd story that occurs and move on. All I can say is we wouldn't be having this conversation about his possible survival if we all had guns, thank god.
-
Ah, Amess' wish for Southend to become a city gets closer and closer... Cos cities are where the stabbings are, innit?
-
Yeah I had to change it as you had the hit here, read the wrong name on the right post, so updated my notification.

Geographically though, it is a disadvantage. Some MPs up here have to travel miles to see constituents. But I just threw the bomb on the thread as usual. But hey, people are stupid, something our beloved Westminster rulers have been exploiting for years. And any diminishing of Scotland's voice will just be added to grievance and exploited by the SNP, regardless of any good reason. Of course, it may have to do with birth rate, but also the sucking of investment and opportunity to the south east for decades - more people live there as a result. Maybe it will allow a few more St George Cross flags to be added to Boris' bunting next time he throws it over Downing Street. -

Proposals for the redrawing of the electoral map means Scotland to lose 2 MPs Wales to lose 8 MPs England to gain 10 MPs. What a surprise. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-58899463 -
Herald obituary for Fiona Clyne, Scottish film and theatre actress, aged 93: https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19647032.obituary-fiona-clyne-film-tv-actress-put-family-career-success/ Essentially gave up her career for her children. She was the widow of Jimmy Gilbert, the TV Producer who worked with many big names including Stanley Baxter. Her daughter Susan Gilmore became an actress too, in such as Angels and Howard's Way. Her son Colin Gilbert is a comedy scriptwriter with Scotch And Wry and Not The Nine O'Clock News to his name, setting up the Comedy Unit in Scotland, producing such as Rab C Nesbitt. All in all, giving up her own career so her husband and children could succeed so amazingly is a tremendous act of self-sacrifice, which has paid off. Deservedly remembered here.

Thanks @Ulitzer95! Obviously he couldn't act under Richard Davies, because of the rather excellent and prolific Welsh actor who died some time ago. Amazing what we don't know.

Death Notice for Sir Peter Gibbings (married to the daughter of the 2nd Viscount Lambert): http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/252793/gibbings-sir-peter-walter Interestingly, The Sun covered how, due to Sir Peter's illness, the family refused to run their horse Song For Someone in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, but that he was recovering back in April allowing the horse to run in the Aintree Hurdle: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/horseracing/14562385/song-for-someone-owner-sir-peter-gibbings-tom-symonds-aintree/ Unfortunately, his recovery seems to have been short-lived (no pun intended).

Death Notice for former Air Chief Marshal Sir John Robson Rogers, aged 93: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/252767/rogers No real war service as I understand it, but rose through the ranks of the Royal Air Force to become Air Chief Marshal so there's that. Also, public school educated - was it different times back in the day? No is the correct answer.

Take a deep breath. So, we have a death notice for Karin MacCarthy, actress who appeared in various television roles, but I will remember her as Kate Vavasor in The Pallisers and on a lighter note as Carol in The Squirrels: http://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/deaths/252763/maccarthy However, this death notice also points out that she was the widow of actor Rowland Davies, another actor from the first adaptation authorised by the Agatha Christie Estate in 1980 as Dr George Arbuthnot in Why Didn't They Ask Evans? and also as Earl Spencer in Diana: Her True Story, and Sir Anthony Chevenix in the first Johnny English movie. Now as of this moment, IMDB doesn't have Rowland Davies dead. I'm going to impose on @Ulitzer95 to perhaps find from the information on these two on IMDB to perhaps discover a date of death for Rowland Davies (born Richard Andrew St John Davies) and their reported marriage in 1975. And then of course to report it to IMDB, ha!!
