If there was any news in brief, it's the death of Rene Malleville: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=https://www.laprovence.com/actu/en-direct/6495334/marseille-rene-malleville-le-celebre-supporter-de-lom-est-decede.html&prev=search&pto=aue

And another one, as Art Metrano I discover was a hit for Baby Blue! No bonuses, leaderboard updated again!

Part of the art of deadpooling is keeping tabs on your own picks, and bringing to the attention of a poor game runner your hits. So, while trawling through the list, I note that Sean had a hit with Jonathan Myles-Lea who died back at the end of August. No bonuses, leaderboard quite obviously updated.

I don't add to my goals total with Jimmy Greaves' death. So I look forward to hearing who did!
-
I should add Toast had Greaves as a sub, draws 3 Hearts for 3 Points added.
-
Jimmy Greaves has died, many players passing on him, but a few bursting the back of the net. A hit for YoungWillz (yay, my round about birthday hit), Bibliogryphon, Great Uncle Bulgaria and An Fear Beag. Of note, every player scoring scored with a Club! Leaves Gooseberry Crumble cooling on the window ledge of no formal hit so far. No bonuses, leaderboard updated.

It's Greavesie.
-
Twitter full of rumours that Greavesie died this morning. Speculation? Or truth? Why now? Let's see.

Report of the death of sometime champion amateur jockey and then trainer John Sutcliffe, aged 81: As it says above, Lester Piggott's best man in 1960, so let's have a swatch at that day:

Anto Finnegan reportedly dead:

Patricia Ross (nee Scantlebury), who performed under the name Patsy Drake, death notice: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timescolonist/obituary.aspx?n=patricia-margaret-ross&pid=200156744 Her last credited role on IMDB is 1949. Yeah, you read that right. I'm going to suggest probably of all her films, she was the last credited living performer. But I haven't checked.

Political Discussions And Ranting Thread

Is this a fucking joke? I was NEVER taught imperial - little Englander thinking. Not that anyone will be able to afford a kg of fruit, never mind a lb while prices go up and your NI tax increase, UB cut and furlough disappearance take effect. Man's a fucking loon. -
Claims Rugby will be dead within 5 years if it doesn't become more thrilling: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-9994675/SIR-CLIVE-WOOWARD-Rugby-fans-thrills-spills-game-dead-five-years.html

Elizabeth Estensen was on Emmerdale? Shows how long it has been since I paid attention to that soap. Anyway, she's off: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-58586093

Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham- Fiennes, 3rd Baronet on Morning Live on the BBC this morning. Shaking like a leaf - not nerves. All his marbles - well, as many as any inbred aristo...

For completeness, Jane Powell has died. Also think Jacques D'Amboise is a faller from the most recent list, iirc.
-
Jane Powell for @msc here. Oh, it's hotting up...
-
Jim Davidson, more like. I'm actually quite depressed all of a sudden. Normally I get a hit around my birthday or even on it, but it's looking likely my teams will see the year out. Hopefully I do too!

Guy From Future can Hit The Deck, as his Bride, Jane Powell has died. A unique hit, no bonuses. Leaves three of us with no formal hit - acht, it's only a game so, put up a real good fight... Leaderboard updated.

This is what charon had to say in the Ideas thread for 2017, which I can't quote as the topic is closed: "Not really one for next year, but don't know where else to put it.. 50 years since 'hey Joe' and 5live just had a very interesting half hour chat with one of the backing singers, a Barbara Moore. Sang on that, won the Eurovision with Puppet on string, married for 3 years to Peter Moore (the Pearl and Dean composer), did arrangement work for John Williams and retired aged forty to a château in France with a mill and half ***does sound a bit doddery*** Well worth a listen on iPlayer or Tunein etc, 3.30-4.00am" Barbara Moore died last month on 26th August: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/sep/16/barbara-moore-jimi-hendrix-elton-john-dusty-springfield Apparently also sang on The Saint TV series theme tune.

AFAIK, yes. Very much my era, when Pan's People came on, I'd be off waiting on the next act. Bit of a shaker.
