Even for 1988, that was a hard watch - in recent years Belgium really have some of the catchiest/dramatic numbers and I always watch out for their entries now. 1988 - wasn't that the year Scott Fitzgerald narrowly missed out to some dame called Celine Dion? Don't get me wrong, both great choons!

Who will win the 2020 US Presidential Election?
YoungWillz replied to Windsor's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Think we are all forgetting how Trump told his voters to vote twice - by mail and in person. Be interesting to see if all this eventually leads to federal voting rules for federal positions - a thing I cannot believe doesn't exist! E.g. Scotland votes on Scottish Elections according to its own rules on Proportional Representation, but we don't get to vote that way for General Elections. Having 50 ways to leave your vote in a box (the rather less successful Paul Simon record) astonishes me. -
Rumours on Twitterforum that Peter Goodwright has also gone.

I hear Trump is holding a party tonight at the White House for 400 guests. Or, if he loses, 400 hostages for the forthcoming siege..... -

Wait. They're putting up ANOTHER fence around the White House? Oh, and good luck with the election, the days to follow, the protests, the convoys, the mass destruction of property and Merry Christmas! (Just kidding!) (Hopefully everything will be ok though). -

Typically Tropical (2) Jeffrey Calvert appears to be the son of the trumpeter Leon Calvert (Penny Lane [Beatles]; Ipcress File; You Only Live Twice) bio details here: https://www.discogs.com/artist/1206059-Leon-Calvert I highly suspect that this Jeffrey Calvert is him (born November 1954) https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/3v1752rs52vbd5chrQHdv6AX8Gk/appointments

Typically Tropical. Not looked into Jeff Calvert yet. Detail on Max West who was born Geraint Wyn Hughes in Port Talbot here: https://geraintwynhughes.wordpress.com/about/ Utterly fascinating story. Son of Graham Hughes and an actress who I'm presuming was Catherine Dillon from the Sea Hawk mention so IMDB may have this wrong. The article calls her Catherine Dolan (born Phyllis Mary Dolan 1926, died 1991). Says he was 13 in 1966, so puts him born c1953?

Tourists. Is this good enough to say Jim Toomey was born c 1946? https://www.starnow.co.uk/jimtoomey Says he has been professional muso from age 21 and says he turned pro in 1967. From London, know he initially moved to Sydney and now Queensland, Oz.

Nothing wrong with a bit of gentle teasing of the DL - we all get that "Doh!!!" moment and we are entitled to receive as well as give a little teasing for that. We've all dropped folk who turn up their toes the next year. For example, not one of the 26 competitors in the Poker Tourney picked Connery. Which saved me a lot of time!

Thunderthighs You probably know this stuff but Casey Synge was born Annette Casey in Dundalk, Ireland, moving to the UK in 1964 to study. She now lives in Cambridge with her husband Richard Synge, and I think they were married circa 1971? There's a reference here to Richard Michael Synge and Annette Casey with a child born 1973: https://www.peterselleck.com/legacy/f30.htm which could be them?
