Committee leap ahead - with somebody's dad. *sigh* YW - 11; DL - 13

So nobody had Bill Gates Snr? Gives a little kudos to we who play this game!
-
Fuck it, Nobby Stiles for a birthday present (I always get a hit round about now).

Bloody Nora, I've got to update the Correctlist- for this? I'll tidy up my business with the Poker Tourney...

Surprisingly few players went for Pat Smullen, who has taken his time to be a faller and cross the finish line...if that makes no sense, you're in my Casino! Nary a proper hit since August 27th! So big ups to Perhaps, Banana, Grim Up North and An Fear Beag who all collect points and trot up the leaderboard. Bonuses: Perhaps hits a pair of 10s for 10 Additional Points. Banana hits a pair of Qs - 10 Additional Points and also makes two pair of Qs and 5s for 15 Additional Points - Total 25 Additional Points (putting Banana on 666 Points - OMEN?) As you can see, leaderboard updated.

No. I pick Valery Giscard d'Estaing!

Sax player Hal Singer has finally got a Guardian Obit. And all that jazz. Anyway, he's a unique for msc who wanders up to 4th. No bonuses, leaderboard updated and will be brought forward on the next death or the Card Roulette Draw, whichever is the earlier.

Edna Wright, sister of Darlene Love and lead singer with Honey Cone who had a huge US hit in 1971 with Want Ads, reported dead.

Danny Webster, guitarist with Slave who made the lower reaches of the UK Chart (#64) with Just A Touch Of Love in March 1980, reportedly dead aged 61: https://www.soultracks.com/story-danny-webster-slave-dies The band is notable as it featured Steve Arrington who went on to have solo success, such as Feel So Real in 1985. Picture quality issues but anyhow:

Think I picked Conran in the past. He was up for re-nomination next year for summat. Looked awful recently. RIP to a master of his art.

The Maytals made #47 in the UK charts with Monkey Man in May 1970:

Fantastic! Except for the crack about Adric...that was putting the boot in!

L.T.D. Abraham Miller proving elusive despite coming from North Carolina with a fairly distinctive name. Johnny McGhee (aka John T McGhee) seems to a somewhat prolific guitarist, writing and producing songs all over the place. And yet I can only come up with a location (which may not be current) of Minneapolis, Minnesota: https://www.reverbnation.com/musician/johnnymcghee Edit: Johnny McGhee's FB: https://www.facebook.com/john.t.mcghee

Bloody lower reaches of the Top 40. Damn you to hell Lori, ha! Meantime...The Lurkers. Here is Pete Haynes website. http://petehaynes.co.uk/index.php/about-me/ Now dragging what little info there is...there's a picture of Ickenham Tube Station, so likely he's from Hillingdon Borough in West London. Says he got a drum kit at 17 and mentions that's around 1975. So I'm going for born 1957/58. Here's an article about the reformed Lurkers by their original vocalist from 2011 https://guernseypress.com/lifestyle/going-out/the-bunker/2011/10/08/i-didnt-mean-to-upset-sting/ Not much there but does indicate Howard Wall was working as a chef in Maidstone. So obviously then living down Kent way. A further interview from 2019 https://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2019/07/29/exclusive-interview-with-arturo-bassick-from-the-lurkers-and-999/ indicates that Pete Haynes "is not well physically" to perform. This article reveals that Haynes, Moore and Wall all attended Abbotsfield School in Ickenham: https://recordcollectormag.com/articles/eternal-contenders although Wall seems to have been slightly older than the other two. Stride seems to have been from that area but there's little on him biography wise.
