I know! I've only just got up - there seems to be a QO: https://metro.co.uk/2020/07/04/pioneering-doctor-who-thunderball-star-earl-cameron-dies-aged-102-12943352/ so I'll update the leaderboard after a ciggie.

If he does obit, maybe they'll sneak a Philip Latham reference in there. *drowning man, straw clutching*

Deathlist Dreaming
YoungWillz replied to harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Better if he was King Louis in honour of Mountbatten. Given what he was up to with Camilla when Diana was alive, he'd truly be the King Of The Swingers! -
When the broadsheets were banging on about how good The Pallisers was compared with today's original dramas, you would think so. I'll bet when Susan Hampshire goes, there'll be obits quicker than a teenager's orgasm while watching Pornhub.

Tami Lynn, who hit #4 in the UK in June 1971 with I'm Gonna Run Away From You, reportedly dead: https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/news-soul/tami-lynn-rip-r4264/ The song was re-released in 1975, reaching a fairly mediocre #36 in May of that year.

So, anybody know if the rumours of Mike Walling's death are true? Probably best known as Eric in Brush Strokes.

Just noticed this thread is exactly 16 years old. So....legal....

Hugh Downs brings me up...to 8 Hits!
-
Yep, I'm sure the new host will take it from here. Me and my team well...withdrawn.
-
I assume it's been posted elsewhere but Hugh Downs is dead: https://uk.reuters.com/article/us-people-hugh-downs/u-s-television-broadcaster-hugh-downs-dies-at-age-99-idUKKBN243313

I'll refer m'learned friend to this rather sexy post from earlier this year:

From what I've seen on t'internet, I understand he had some form of cancer. Still, 83 is a good age, outlived Del Shannon by thirty years. I see from his Wiki he also played keyboards on Brian Hyland's April 1971 UK #42, Gypsy Woman. No getting away from it, though, Runaway is probably one of the best enduring choons ever.

It's maybe also worth pointing out at this stage that Bibliogryphon now has more points this year than he did at the end of last year's competition! Could this be his year?

So I nip away for a few hours relaxation and it seems like Weekes. Yes, the Poker Tourney scores it's first ever first day double with the death of a cricketing legend, Everton Weekes. So we not only have Yorkshire Banker in the lead now playing his Red Joker already, at the other end we have our first Sub faller - for Sean. Yorkshire Banker picks up the 50 Point bonus for a Joker hit. Sean draws Q Spades for 12 Points. Bibliogryphon hits an A and gets an additional 5 Points. Other scorer was Joe Moneypenny who joins the leaderboard. Leaderboard updated.

Fixed. Tim Bilton scraped though on his Great British Menu appearance. You are only properly famous if you've been on a TV cooking show....

Ha! All anyone had to do was ask. The helpdesk at the Casino was seriously underused this year.....
