Just a Scottish catchphrase, ha! (Except in select areas - but who knows? The ways things are going, even some Tories want the Tories out!).

I'll take the 2 point hit. Yay...

I was rather hoping for Ed Davey to arrive at his manifesto launch by jumping off a trampoline and doing a forward roll on a crash mat. But fear not, he's off to ride a roller coaster this afternoon! His policies sound most in touch with the public. If he's Leader of the Opposition (as some polls predict) PMQs could be fun.

Good to Sunak again. Interview done in a pub. Sunak doesn't drink. Says he wants to toughen up sentences and more bobbies on the beat. With the prisons full to bursting, where are all these new prisoners going to go? Unless he's planning to release more crims early? Says he wants the law to show no mercy. Then begs the British public to forgive him for D-Day fiasco. Surely all the criminals should just apologise, beg for forgiveness and we can move on. I've never seen anyone less sincere about an apology than Johnson. That takes some doing.

Apparently he's already blocked a Basildon residents' association on the XMusk. Which is a great look.

Well, that would be shocker. If he manages to lose that seat, it's over for that blue corner of the North East. -
I agree with Rishi. A mere 50 quid fine for Partygate wasn't enough. Not when students and others were fined 10 grand. He should be strung up with that seatbelt he was caught not wearing when driving. Clunk, click, he's a dick.

Douglas Ross says he will not stand as a candidate in the General Election. Ross stands as candidate for Aberdeenshire North And Moray in the General Election. Ross says he will stand down as Scottish Tory leader and if successful in the General Election will resign as an MSP. You can tell when Ross is lying. His lips move. -
I've a tune for McVey. Baby, losing some votes Real quick Dispense with the Blues True Tory Blues Baby, change your address, Yes, Yes, Yes. You can leave your Tatton You can leave your Tatton You can leave your Tatton.

Bridgen was my pick, but I ditched him for Bim - nothing I'd like better than to see this utter snivelling toady with thought for nowt but party get his arse presented to him on a plate with Dauphinoise potatoes.

No they don't have to be, just a side game. One can still relish the big names to fall, but enjoying the demise of other political careers, who am I to deny you that? *chef's kiss* As Wilde once said: Misfortunes one can endure - they come from outside, they are accidents. But to suffer for one's own faults - ah! - there is the sting of life.

So the Tories revert to type, with Sunak declaring a "moral mission" to bring down the benefits bill: https://news.sky.com/story/general-election-rishi-sunak-says-reforming-welfare-is-moral-mission-as-he-pledges-to-cut-rising-costs-of-benefits-13149983 Meanwhile, Laura K had a late night meeting with Jon Sopel last night, where he urged Laura to distance herself from Sunak and his policies:

Sunak has gone to County Durham today. Maybe he's doing the Dominic Cummings trail of shame round Barnard Castle?

Meantime, I sometimes drop by GB News for a giggle. See what the deluded are saying. Seemingly populated by people who have grown too old to be casino croupiers or be on Babestation. Anyhow, some dame called Dawn Neesom has been talking about the Duke of Westminster's wedding and before and after a break called him formerly Britain's most "illegible bachelor". Stupid, simple people involved in a vanity project.

I see a pattern here.

I think the key point here is "wanted to act". I've found Coogan an insufferable presence for many years, supposedly making us "laugh" at the same character for 30 years. Yes, he has done other things, but he's a second rate impressionist with little performance skills. As usual, funny when he started but he's been conning the public for too long. Try as I may, I can't bring myself to dislike O'Leary. Just my opinion, I don't bother with radio much anyway.

We're open for suggestions. Pick 1, 2 or 3 sitting MPs who are standing for re-election, in the hope that they will lose by the largest margin (winner of seat votes as against your pick votes). Also enjoy the tears, the fake smiles, the shock and awe of results night, and even those who lose by a whisker as a side show. You can pick someone who has been picked by someone else. I'll do a list. Entries close at 7 am BST on 4th July. I'll have a go at Rob Roberts (Clwyd East), Lee Anderson (Ashfield) and Bim Afolami (Hitchen).

Two things I found quite illuminating from last night, now I've had a sleep. Penny Mordaunt said the Tories were planning tax cuts and was rightly challenged on the highest tax burden since 1948. While the laughing was going on, she insisted that her party "hated every minute" of raising tax. There's no evidence of that. No defections, no resignations, no impassioned speeches from the benches, nothing from raising tax - waving of order papers and cheers of MOOORRREEEE yes. It has been where the tax cuts fall, the vast majority of those for the ultra-wealthy. If we have the highest employment rate ever with more people paying tax, you would have thought that tax cuts were affordable and all public services would be adequately financed. Mordaunt's faux remorse is like your school bully taking your pocket money, giving you a purple nurple and then saying they had to do it because their therapy wasn't going well. The response to Flynn's comments on immigration got a huge round of applause. Astonishing. Wasn't it only a few years ago that would have been met with silence, they are taking our jobs and working for less, let's bomb out of the EU and everything will be better? I think that took the wind out of the sails of both Labour and Conservative reps, and even Farage looked like he had been slapped onto the fishmonger's slab ready for filleting. I think the country has come to the realisation that you can't blame everything on the immigrants a la Farage and Boris, that in fact it is the Government's absolute failure to get a grip of it and not spend our money responsibly. It is a gambit from Flynn I'd never have expected to get the warm reception it did.

William Anders QO: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13507845/Apollo-8-astronaut-William-Anders-90-named-pilot-killed-small-plane-slammed-Washington-lake-fireball.html Unnatural death bonus.

Here's one from another member of the couple taking the vids - the boom is on that one, certainly: Yeah, distance is key here.
-
Yeah, it's all tough in the early reports. Certainly looks like the plane goes in front of the trees rather than behind, but the humming and no boom - yeah, it's odd. There's no doubt the FAA are doing a search and rescue though. And so we wait. Not me though, I'm off to my bed.

Actually his condition is unknown but given the footage here, I'm going to say dead:
