Just watched the video and Jim Leavelle makes an appearance. Could make a case for every still living performer at Woodstock and the living members of the Brooklyn Dodgers World Series team, so there's still a theme team!

Gone for Poitier. If I'm gonna be wrong, might as well be completely wrong.

We Didn't Start The Fire loses Doris Day. which leaves: England's got a new Queen - Queen Elizabeth II Bardot - Brigitte Bardot Chubby Checker Dylan - Bob Dylan British Beatlemania - Paul and Ringo Bernie Goetz
-
Think we avoided her given the historical dispute over her year of birth. Anyhow, we wait...

Once again, for completeness, the future's not hers to see, that Doris Day: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-48257670 Maybe @gcreptile could be persuaded to update his update....

Literally has anyone the time to hunt through Doris Day's movies? -
It's an interesting fact though, ha! I have 7 possible living folk from 1953 who had their first top 10 hit, the first full year of the UK charts. However despite my best efforts, I'm only sure that 3 of them are definitely alive. Edit: Doesn't include session musicians or individual members of orchestras.

Only Vera Lynn alive who had a Top 10 UK hit in 1952, the first year of the official charts.

I missed again..... That reminds me, how's Phil Collins doing?
-
She's this year's Chuck Berry for me! Wasn't she working in fucking Macdonalds or summat last year? It's the Black Hills of Dakota for my score.

Doris Kappels H-off and the Day has come for me and the Committee to have 2 hits. YW - 2; DL - 2

Doris Day takes me to two hits in the pop category. Waiting on recently widowed Pat Boone there and Belafonte in the Soul/Blues category.

Walden on Weekend World was fascinating though. It was one of the few programmes a truly young me would tune into. Could be a bit sycophantic to people he agreed with, but he knew the power of silence in an interview. Emily Maitlis and Andrew Marr and the rest could learn the value of not interrupting your political interviewee. Let your question be good and let your words hang in the air. Let your respectful tone sucker your guest into believing you are trying to be on their side and allow them to hang themselves high on the gibbet of their own folly. He really was very good at what he did.

So I set my teams up to topple. Then 2019 came along.....

Was thinking about doing a list of former First Ladies around the world. Could be a big job. Meantime, is Graça Machel the only living former First Lady of two countries? By which I mean a sovereign state that's a member of the United Nations in its own right (the "Richard Osman Gambit").

The death of Allene Roberts reported here means that the entire cast of The Red House (1947) and The Sign Of The Ram (1948) are definitely dead. IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0730815/ Two annoying details: Margaret Tracy is not listed as dead on IMDB for The Sign Of The Ram. However, she was the mother of fairly recently deceased Peggy Cummins, and as it turns out Wiki states Margaret was born in the 19th century and died in 1973. So I think we are safe there. The entire cast of the Lawrence Tierney movie The Hoodlum (1951) would be dead but for the lack of a traceable obit for one Richard Barron, who had a credited role and seems to have stopped acting in the late 1950s. Who knows? Otherwise, there's a number of bit part uncredited roles in her other films who are probably deceased but they'd need proper detective work. -
Lawdy. Winnie Jordan Richard Green Karol Modzelewski Liz Howe John Singleton.

Report regarding the death of Mary Stopes-Roe: Pretty good source but then again, it's just a Twitter report.
