Edit: If I calculate that correctly and he died in Toronto, that's still 11pm on 31 December GMT.

I'll not mention anything just now until there's a distance between the end of the year. You know, late obits - the next thing we know we all wake up on 3rd January to discover that Betty White, Herman Wouk and Clive James all died on 31st and nobody knows when McCririck died and we are footling around for our subs!
