    Curse Of The Eurovision

Well done Switzerland and Croatia!! What a horrific competition that actually made the better numbers do well, now I can sleep well knowing the nonsense did not matter. I still wish Netherlands had a fair shake at the vote, another top 3 or 4, that number will be the real winner, no doubt.

    Curse Of The Eurovision

I wonder if some of the other delegations will refuse to participate now. They could easily break the competition by refusing to go on stage just as they are called. (We all know how the Israeli secret service work, wouldn't surprise me if there have been shenanigans - idle speculation obviously). Again, there have been some reports of audience members subjected to harassment. However, EBU's zero tolerance doesn't extend quite that far. All this could have been avoided though. I've tried to judge on the music and the artists, but this really ends my 50 year love affair with the competition.

Netherlands out? One of the best entries in years DQ-ed. Colour me finished with this after this year.

    Curse Of The Eurovision

Regardless of absolutely everything, all I know is I barely remember Israel's entry, whereas I have been spontaneously bursting into "Euro-pa-pa papapapapa" all day. And if I had a cat, I'd meow back at it. There's so much to enjoy this year, and I am determined to go to my mates' house for the party and enjoy it.

  8. On the day Thatcher died, I raised a glass. Actually several. The celebration that she was well and truly gone from this Earth went on all afternoon.

Well, I'd rather not be posting here about this. A facepalm or angry reaction for example could be a reaction to the message contained within the post, rather than a reaction to the user and the fact that something has been posted. Now I'm not saying that certain users may use the reactions in that way. I rarely use those anyway, but I believe that is the way they should be used and perhaps not taken personally.

    Curse Of The Eurovision

I agree. Though if Finland entered last year's entry again they would smash this lot. Though this year's is probably Top 10. Who thought Estonia would progress? Honestly, you break out a dance routine and that swings what was a dismal vocal for the most part.

    Curse Of The Eurovision

Fair result overall (although Armenia qualified? - See Ireland). Thought Czechia might squeeze a place but it was not to be - good song, but again a poor vocal performance cost them I believe, like it did for Poland last semi. I'll never tire of Herreys - still probably my favourite winner and glad to see them wheeled out again. 40 years. Where did all that time go?

Cheers. Reports now coming in: https://abc7news.com/post/pete-mccloskey-former-bay-area-congressman-environmentalist-dies-at-age-96/14784769/ Apparently around the turn of the month it was reported he was slipping away.
