Lol, only LFN could take that joke seriously! Seriously though... Here's what the impartial BBC are reporting as Britain welcoming Macron's election: "France is one of our closest allies and we look forward to working with the new President." Read that again as though Le Pen had won. It's a statement that could have been written about whoever won maybe three days ago. Quite right too. This time of night on a Sunday, our PM should be salivating over how much her hubby's share prices have increased due to Brexit, and thinking how to form the words "strong", "stable" "coalition" and "chaos" into comprehensible and new sounding phrases. LOL! -

How dare France vote for a pro-EU candidate. This is quite clearly France, its politicians and its electorate interfering in the UK election. Yet another snub in the great history of France to the mighty United Kingdom, which stands as a paragon of virtue and wonder across the continents of the world. They even stole our country's flag colours for their own. It is a disgrace.... Yours sincerely, Outraged of Maidenhead. -

It certainly takes the "look at the size of my pigtail" award! My guess is it won't make the final.

Margaret Ferrier, SNP. Overturned a 20 thousand something majority for the "late" not great Tom Greatrex, one of those career Labour guys who was obviously given a "safe" Labour seat to promote his career. Given the local elections here, Margaret is staying MP.

I'm intrigued how the complete insincerity of Theresa is going down. On Pip's standing down from Royal duties she was quite clearly reading a prepared statement off a card. Today she was standing in an empty room clearly reading a statement off a card stating that the local elections weren't about local elections but all about strong Brexit. (Remember Cameron's Scottish Referendum being all about EVEL?). It's very strange to watch... -

Two interesting things about how this will affect Scotland in the General Election I think. Firstly, the full horror of an unfettered huge majority Tory Government may drive SNP voters out in their droves again. Woodpile person: the fishermen and the farmers may vote overwhelmingly Tory on Brexit, only to find they will be the first to be sold out by them when the money goes to the City of London. Interesting times.... -

Just been saying that to Dad...because the Tories and Labour always get together in the end. Dundee was a surprise! -

Slightly special in Glasgow, in that it was probably the last bastion of taking the folk for granted by Labour, high independence vote in the 2014 referendum, Scottish Labour's poor leadership rather than national, etc etc. It's always a pleasure up here, conversely, to see the Tories doing well out of proportional representation and smugly cheering every victory at local and Scottish Parliamentary elections, when they are so against it. -

Labour fail to get their candidate elected in Shettleston and lose overall control of Glasgow. This is an historic moment, and would be worthy of any leader of such a party stepping down. Paradoxically, Corbyn's values are exactly attuned to Glasgow values, I'd say. Unlike his Red Tory party. -

Cool. Hopefully that means Saxa might get his proper obituary after all. I mean the guy played with Desmond Dekker and Prince Buster as well as The Beat and was a fully paid up member of the latter. Yet not a sniff from the mainstream media...

Now, it's already been fairly busy, but if the rumours are true, I'm going to relish the above. If not, it's still been a busy week so far... -
It is just possible the Royal Vibrator had a fingerprint on it and the culprit must be identified.... Or Philip's dead... I wondered why the meeting with Theresa took longer than expected yesterday. It's just possible they knew something was afoot and how that might impact on the campaign etc etc. Anyway, we'll know in the morning, assuming they don't delay any announcement until after the polls close today.
