It was there....I even checked against Google news. It still shows up if you go to Google News, then recent, past hour, show omitted results. Well, at the moment it does. Maybe the story was premature? I blame the internet. And Manson.

Time to slam the door shut on 2016! (Oh, shut that door!) Now first of all, I have been through the 2016 lists for the umpteenth time. The detailed leaderboard is here: https://forums.deathlist.net/topic/8314-the-hares-death-pool/?p=289369 and I'm pretty sure I have now accounted for all deaths to date. Despite not having any of the major players who snuffed it in the last few days of 2016, our leader was way out there. Interestingly, if someone had only had the magic combination of Tovar, Gabor, Castro, Richard Adams and Liz Smith (with one of them as their joker) plus one or two others, it could all have been such a different story, i.e. a combination of only 6 or 7 hits might have won. Closest to that was Shaun of the Dead, who surged up the leaderboard in the last few days. Last year's champ Toast had a good year with 12 hits, sadly most of them just not garnering the chunky points later in the year. Death Impends also had a good go towards the end. Sir Creep leapt up at the ankles of gold with Huston Smith and finished runner-up, despite technically only having 24 names. What might have been with one more late hit, eh? So, bloody well accept you've won gcreptile, and accept the plaudits, laurels etc. I'm sure Deathray will honour his pledge to donate a fiver to the charity of your choice (you did say that, didn't you?) Final Leaderboard for 2016: 1st - gcreptile - 2223 Points; 13/25 2nd -Sir Creep - 1860 Points; 13/25 3rd - The Unknown Man - 1776 Points; 11/25 4th - Maryportfuncity - 1747 Points; 10/25 5th- Death Impends - 1709 Points; 10/25 6th - Captain Chorizo - 1627 Points; 11/25 7th - Toast - 1565 Points; 12/25 8th - Book - 1521 Points; 8/25 9th - Shaun Of The Dead - 1482 Points; 7/25 10th - Rotten Ali - 1159 Points; 9/25 11th - Morbidkid - 1096 Points; 8/25 12th - msc - 1026 Points: 8/25 13th - Jiroemon Kimura - 1001 Points; 6/25 14th - Whoaml - 862 Points; 6/25 15th - Switch - 850 Points; 6/25 16th - YoungWillz - 383 Points; 3/25 17th - Bibliogryphon - 228 Points; 2/25

Just been watching Newswatch on the BBC. Quite a few sensitive souls getting incredibly worked up that the BBC dared to cover the flurry of deaths towards the end of 2016. Probably the same folk who would be asking "Why wasn't I informed?" or "Why wasn't there more coverage?" when one of their beloved celebrities dies. What do you want? "And today, Joanna Lumley died". Switch to picture with years of birth and death. "Goodnight."

Didn't get the memo...I was sure Lardy had predicted an outright win for herself? For myself, I'll predict...better than last year.

It means that she is very ill. Now reporting her dead: https://twitter.com/voice4victims/status/817009565644521472 Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jill_Saward If true you'd expect her to get at least a Guardian obit. As of a few minutes ago she was still alive on Wikipedia; though I did notice that we missed her dad's death a couple of years back; Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Saward_(priest) BBC News Channel reporting it now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-38522714

Video showing a , meeting with the bruins pre-winter classic, led me to look into Schmidt's health. Apparently, he was in quarantine at his nursing home last year after a bout with illness. Other than that, not much, but I hope he has enough fight to keep him around a while yet.Second on that list to Schmidt was Boston Bruin Eddie Barry, who according to Wiki died Feb 12. I find nothing on Google so take it at face value.SC https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Barry_(ice_hockey) Edit: from what I can tell, Chick Webster moves into the #2 slot now. Jim Conacher #3 Leo Reise Jr #4. Report here that Milt Schmidt has died: https://twitter.com/ShawnHutcheon/status/816741228129742848 Nothing up on the Bruins website afaik.
