Good to hear you and the folks are fine. Why everyone doesn't live in detached manor houses in this, the fifth largest economy in the world, I don't know.

Peter Davey, one of the students who put a car on the roof of Cambridge University in 1958 and thus earning some renown, has died. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timesonline-uk/obituary.aspx?n=peter-gordon-davey&pid=181397222 Here's a story about a re-enactment they were doing and a picture of the original stunt: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/10112843/Cambridge-car-on-roof-prank-the-secret-was-in-the-swing-says-ringleader-55-years-on.html -
IMO he'll be dead within the week. Only breathing with respirator.

I don't know if I will ever be ready to have that greatness thrust upon me (oo-er, missus, never said that before)! Anyway, I have my half century celebrations (i.e. I'm hoping there will be celebrations) in a few days time, if I make it that is, so...yeah, too old he he. -

Indeed he does. Shows that he only ever cared about his career and control freakery. He thought he was so strong he would win the referendum easily. Now he doesn't even give a damn about his constituents and walks away from them. Pathetic.

It's my annual watch of the live coverage of 9/11 on YouTube. I was sitting at my desk in a small office, just about to have lunch. Rest of the day was a write off and I think we were sent home early. As horrific to watch as it was then. -
I can't use the link, but given I've heard that song so many times:

I thought it was black Enoch Powell, they did have him.

Strange how you mention that song. Just yesterday I found a newspaper clipping with the lyrics that had fallen out of the single while I was sorting through a box. What bothers me is that everytime I mention it I realise I still know all the words. Until recently I didn't know that it was written by the two guys who created Red Dwarf. Ok, I have had a terrible time watching that poor quality video and listening to The Chicken Song. I know there's quite a few generic puppets (i.e. non-famous) but these are the survivors as far as I can tell, though there are probably more: Andrew Lloyd Webber; John Wakeham; Neil Kinnock; Glenys Kinnock; David Steel; Elton John; Prince Philip; Queen Elizabeth II; Prince Edward; Frank Bruno; Paul McCartney; Esther Rantzen; Mark Thatcher. And is the big bloke a generic or is it meant to be Hulk Hogan? And I simply cannot be sure that is Prince Andrew on the decks, it is too blurred. But if it is, he's alive. Any other eagle eyes appreciated, if you can be bothered.

Just watched it; brilliant! Yes, well....

Sad sad news. One of the greats.

Yep, there's nothing in the California death records or the Social Security Index though. I have no idea what her maiden name was though, that may be what she's under, or it could be a rumour that is unfounded (original source is normally reliable).

I've seen continuing reports that Sally Sweetland is dead, but cannot find anything recent, and no reliable links. Any takers for a hunt down?
