Betty Driver Memorial Soapstar Superstar Thread

Hazel Adair, who devised Compact and Crossroads and who wrote for Mrs Dale's Diary has died at 95. http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/nov/23/hazel-adair -
^^For me: A. Slowly the writers were giving control back to The Doctor. Personally I'm fed up with "assistants with limited life experience who know better than the genius alien who has been all over the universe in time and space" line that has been a major feature since effing Rose and I'm glad the Doctor is back in charge; B. Nevertheless, Coleman's acting (up until her fateful goodbye which was cloyingly "Casualty") has definitely improved as she's had to up her game against Capaldi; and C. Her death wasn't gruesome enough. Or heroic enough. And she's probably coming back in some form before Christmas. But I'm glad she's dead and hopefully will stay dead and never offend my eyes again with that dreadful character.

^^ charon do you mean The Awakening, the dreadful made for tv movie? Repossessed was about The Exorcist? Edit: Just checked IMDB for the fourth film, everyone's alive apart from Don S Davis and David Cameron (the actor, not the PM). No doubt they'll start falling like flies now! If there's someone who does pass on and they have a credit in the fourth film, please mention it, even if it's not their finest hour.

Bloody hell*, Keith Michell was one of my theme team jokers for 2016! And may I say, Hissing Sid was all over the playground when I was growing up. Nevertheless, believe he's a DDP hit this year when there's a QO. (*Ron Weasley)

Whilst doing something completely unrelated, I came across this link http://ktla.com/2014/11/14/ktla-says-goodbye-to-john-eggers/ from November 2014 which indicates that John Eggers died at least prior to that date (the video shows the scattering of his ashes at sea). Think that rules him out of the running for the team that picked him. Edit: here's his obituary: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/latimes/obituary.aspx?pid=172923239

So, How's Your 2016 Shortlist Looking?
YoungWillz replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
DDP teams selected provisionally (1 main, 2 theme). Deathrace team submitted to MPFC. Inverse and Shaun's Deadpools: awaiting more information. I believe Shaun is considering new rules for 2016. Hartlepool and Hares: Dunno. I'll have to look at the threads again to work out what is going on. Personal Deathlist: don't think I'll bother - 50 names, no prize? Nah. -
Mal Whitfield, American Tuskagee airman who became a gold medal winning athlete at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics (800m and 4x400m relay), dies at 91. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-3326127/Mal-Whitfield-Olympian-served-Foreign-Service-dies.html Mentioned by Octopus of Odstock in his farewell list here: http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8379&p=202909

Redvers Kyle, Yorkshire TV continuity announcer, has reportedly died at 86. http://www.transdiffusion.org/2015/11/19/redvers-kyle-1929-2015 DDP team awaits obit. Edit: He narrated the educational programme How We Used To Live, which was one of my favourite TV shows growing up. Bless him. Edit 2: Not sure if this counts as a valid DDP Obit: http://www.atvtoday.co.uk/74540-ytv/ I'll keep looking if not. Also there's this which is from YTV's Calendar programme: https://youtu.be/_lS_5vbLkEo

Personally, I've got to hope that Pauline Quirke dies, and they invite at least everyone else on my team to her funeral, to be held on the 13th of the month in Paris on the day Daesh come back.

Make Deathlist A Kay Burley Free Zone
YoungWillz replied to Dr. Zorders's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
It's a paradox. If we ban mentioning her, that ultimately results in the deletion of this thread for mentioning her, which means she is likely to be mentioned without impunity as if this thread never existed. -
Not at all gcreptile, thanks for letting us know. My comedy theme team needs these titbits.

Very interesting. Both articles even descirbe him as gravelly voiced and "gruff". Same author? Gross busted. Qualifying DDP Obit for the two teams who had him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-3323006/Michael-Gross-created-Ghostbusters-logo-dies-70.html
