Clifford Earl (born Ken Earl), who appeared twice in Doctor Who, Station Sergeant in The Daleks' Master Plan and Major Branwell in The Invasion, 81. http://tobyhadoke.com/doctor-who/clifford-earl-1933-2015-rip/ Seems to have been a go-to actor for police roles, was also in the TV version of Bootsie and Snudge, Danger Man, The Avengers, Softly Softly and so on.

Taking a short sabbatical. Not a holiday, but won't be on for a day or so. See you soon, Listers! -
Is there an issue with Ivan Moravec for Dead and Dusted 3? Not that I'm championing the adversaries lol, but he's not been put in again? I'll take him off the round up if there's some problem.

Dont' they take away shoelaces and belts and sharp objects in Chilean jails? SC Edit: OK after actually looking at link, WTF was he doing at his HOUSE??? Packing... Packing shotgun cartridges into a shotgun.

*sigh* One on either side is too many. With a tweak, the right to bear arms could be changed to the right to bare arms - giving everyone the right to wear a T-shirt, or summat.

Just to balance things up, is there a statistic for how many officers have lost their lives in the service of their country due to shootings?

The ones that were black are now. (Not being racist, stating a fact).

And in more Saddam related news, Watban Ibrahim Al-Hassan, a former minister and half-brother of Hussein has died of an "incurable disease". He had been under sentence of death since 2009 - saved the state doing it, it seems. http://www.kuna.net.kw/ArticleDetails.aspx?id=2455648&language=en Edit: Wiki has him as Al-Takriti rather than Al-Hassan but quotes the same article. Not sure of these naming things in the Middle East, but hey.

And in more Pinochet related news, Hernan Ramirez Rurange, a former Chilean General, commits suicide after being sentenced for a 1995 murder. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/aug/13/former-chilean-general-hernan-ramirez-rurange-dies-apparent-suicide

^^I was there at the time, my Lord, I'm actually giving you a critic's version of my 6 or 7 year old self. The TV series was great, the films less so - we watched the whole thing as a family. I thought that back then and although the first one is almost as good, the two followups weren't there imo. But it was only my opinion - remember my poor little kiddie face coming out of the cinema, slightly creased with bemusement as to why the film didn't live up to the show. Damaged me, I tell ya, oh my gawd. -

Better here, surely? I guess it's an age thing....firstly I hated LOTSW, parents made me watch it and secondly he was in it after I was old enough to make my own TV choices so I never saw him in it..he will always be Blakey to me. He was in LOTSW longer than he was in On The Buses. I couldn't watch LOTSW after Bill Owen passed away, although I did watch the episode where they paid tribute to him (Bill Owen/Compo). Leaves Anna Karen as the sole survivor of the main cast (every episode). Tripped onto Twitter to see the reaction, almost to a man and woman they refer to On The Buses for Stephen Lewis. There were 3 films too (let's not judge the quality of those but remember Mr Lewis' acting!). Like George Cole, there are some roles that just define your career. Having looked at Anna Karen's IMDB, she's been in Eastenders longer than most roles, but I'll bet she'll be more remembered for OTB or even the 1970s The Rag Trade reboot. Everyone has a different memory though, and that should be respected. -
