36,600 for me, which appears to be above average for native English speakers. I missed out a few on the second list that I have seen before, but couldn't think of a definition. And some of them I have never seen before.

His job's his life! If he's resigning as indicated, this could spell the start of a downward spiral. He has previously indicated he wanted to die in the job.

Welcome back. Hope you had a lovely time.

Indeed you do but I am worrying the first by-election may end up being called before the start of the game. Though if legal proceedings are involved it may drag it out a bit. Is it too late to submit a team ? 30th June was the deadline the_engineer, still time.

It's the 62nd anniversary of her coronation today. Still no sign of weakening, she'll definitely become our longest ever reigning monarch.

Back in the day, I supported his party. The one he led was more left leaning, he certainly was a character and he was steeped in Scotland. He made no secret of his distaste for the Coalition and far less some of the policies his party supported whilst in Government. RIP Charles, this will be one of the big shocks of the year.

Hmm. I certainly didn't re-open the thread. I didn't post the same post in different threads. I became aware of a head of state thread and used it, simply because it elevated the distinction of the deceased and was the most apt imo. Yeah the forum needs streamlined, but I've been here less time than most and this is the first forum I have ever joined. The niceties may escape me at times, as does the term "post whore", which I've never heard of until now. I always try to do better. But threads can always be merged and posts moved by the mods if they feel appropriate, surely. E.g. when I posted about balcony deaths earlier, I was simply unaware due to my time on the forum of a few months that a Hotels thread existed, and DDT kindly moved the post. (I didn't re-open that thread). I certainly don't go looking for old threads to resurrect (to use an apt word). Hope this helps you understand where I am on this.
