Whoops, didn't even notice HuffPost was different. That's what comes of listening to the Partick Thistle match while trying to post! Well, I tried, don't give up hope, the Independent seems to catch up with these things gradually, I'd pay attention there over the next wee while.

Well, that's my second pseudo-hit this year for my theme team, a unique pick no less. I'm afraid no DDP approved obit will come, considering what happened to Ruska. Does this little story on Wim Ruska not count for DDP? http://news.yahoo.com/olympic-judo-champion-wim-ruska-dies-74-120224268.html There's also this from Huffington Post. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20150216/oly--obit-ruska/

That's actually a VERY juicy tidbit. My 'Coincidental Deaths' database has a couple actor-director pairings, the most recent of which I believe was Richard Widmark/Jules Dassin ("Night in the City") back about 5 years ago. Synchronicities like that may be working right here right now. I'll be looking for ODH's death notice before Easter, and hit #3 for DL.SirC Who knows, he might drag Angela Lansbury into the mix. Although I still say it's too soon for her. Edit: Grauman also directed 633 Squadron. The planes involved? de Havilland Mosquitos. Coincidence?

I've done a search here and online and can't find anything regarding Valerie Lush, born Christmas Day 1918. She was Auntie Flo in And Mother Makes Three/Five. Anyone know if she's still with us?
