Press conference is a car crash. Many many, great great, very very, beautiful beautiful, garbage and crap used by the prospective holder of high office. Still referring to himself in the third person.

I see they dredged up a few for the Pop Quiz specials too. Nick Heyward still looked mighty damn fine. Mari Wilson? OMG! Ranking Roger definitely hasn't aged well though. -
Counsel for the Defence rests. Fee-less. Ha ha. msc is right, it definitely sounds less clumsy. Branding is everything.

Oh I don't know, the Hare was fast and lost. The faster your hits come, the more likely you are to lose. That's what I thought anyway. (Superb defence of Deathray, there, my fee note is in the post!)

Thought I'd have a look at some of the articles written by "outraged of Fleet Street". The same people who with glee print stories of the ill health of say Ian Brady or Charles Manson. To paraphrase Orwell, it seems that some are more deserving of their impending death than others. As I think I've mentioned before, I really involve myself to learn about more people and their fascinating lives. I'd never have heard of Clare Hollingworth for example. It also prepares me for the sad passing of someone who may have been out of the spotlight for a while but who holds a special place for me, and the forum is also sometimes a virtual group hug when someone dear to many of us go. I'm not very good at predicting. That doesn't bother me in the side competitions as my best performance was in the Inverse DP (totally expected!). I find more comfort here than in the mainstream press.

Now we have 8 scoring teams out of 24 and 1 non-scoring team with everyone else awaiting their first hit. And it's the 10th of January! Slow and steady wins this one... Anyway, leaderboard soon towards the end of the month or when someone gets two hits, whichever is sooner.

Now, here's a thought. If Poitier goes, would they end with him after the diversity controversy last year? -
Dead. Properly big name in the field, so my wife tells me, though she thought he'd died years ago. Oops, forgot a link, here's one: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/renowned-polish-born-sociologist-zygmunt-bauman-dies-at-home-in-england-at-age-91-associate-in-warsaw-says/2017/01/09/ec18f446-d68d-11e6-a0e6-d502d6751bc8_story.html?utm_term=.86260206ba01
