    Peter Sallis

Exactly Shaun. This is why it's nigh on impossible to know when/ if to put people like Gene Hackman on the list. He is 87 in January next year and is starting to get to the age when people start to think, ' well let's put him on!' But we have no idea if he's as fit as a fiddle or in bad shape. People look at his IMDB profile and see he last starred in a movie in 2004 and come to conclusions but it isn't always like that. Of course with Peter, it would be daft now to take him off the list just due to his age but he could be one of these blokes who just goes on and on like, say Kirk Douglas so he'd be on the list for another 4+ years.. I'm glad he's lasted as long as he has anyway - always seemed like a nice down-to- earth bloke.

    Peter Sallis

I just thought I'd bump this thread as it is now exactly 10 years since it was created. Nice to see Peter Sallis still here and the first poster of this thread being wrong when he mentioned that Peter wouldn't have much longer to go! I think he'll see 2017 although he is another person like Cliff Mitchelmore where we have no idea how they are doing.

    Thoughts On The 2016 List

I think there is a good possibility that the record could be broken this year. As was mentioned above quite a few of the people that you would have thought more likely to die last year (over some of those that did) didn't. People like Havelange, Graham, Douglas and the Thai King. We're still not a quarter way through the year yet so who knows?

    World's Oldest

Does anyone think either Jones or Morano will beat Jeanne Calment's longevity? Susannah Jones has just under 6 years to beat her record - might be a bit of a stretch!
  6. Scotland had an independence referendum and voted 'no' 55% to 45%. They aren't leaving the UK. There is even less support for independence in Wales - they would have even less chance of making it on their own then the Scots ( who have oil although the prices have now tanked so they're probably relieved they voted 'no! )

Which One Of Thatcher`s Vegetables Will Go Next?

Peter Carrington first although wouldn't be surprised if we get another surprise like Douglas Hurd or even Helseltine who did have (still has?) heart trouble.

    David Bowie

I did think it a bit strange how he hadn't released an album since 2003 and then released 2 in relatively quick succession. Most people thought it was a comeback but I kind of thought it was a farewell album especially when he didn't tour. There was talk that he would attend the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony but that came to nothing.. I didn't think he was actually gong to die soonish though - just completely disappear from the music scene. When you look at his lifestyle in the 1970s though (and even though you can live a clean lifestyle afterwards for decades) it must have an impact on people, and I have read he's always smoked like a chimney as well which doesn't help. I wonder if other people like him of a similar age like Elton John won't get to see an advanced age - ie late 70s onwards?

    Thoughts On The 2016 List

No Geoffrey Bayldon or Tony Britton? Shocking misses...

    Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

I don't know if he's been mentioned but Tony Britton might be a worthy pick (at the bottom of the top 50 anyway. He's 92 in June 2016 and will get an obit. Fern Britton's dad, starred in Robins Nest and that other 80s sitcom, Don't Wait Up with Nigel Havers. Also had roles in films like The Day Of The Jackal. Like Geoffrey Bayldon he's knocking on, hasn't worked for a couple of years from what I've seen and is a maybe IMO...
