Shame no-one took a punt on Lord Lucan. Could have added it to the Strickland debate :-)

Saw him at Hammersmith on Tuesday night. Sad to see him being taken over by the Parkinsons, but still funny as hell. Cant be easy standing on the same spot for 2 hours when he used to be so active.

Songs You Can Go The Rest Of Your Life Without Hearing Again
Pedro67 replied to Phantom's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Where to start....... Always take the weather with you by Crowded house. So friggin' irritatingly annoying. ' Do I lie like a Lounge room Lizard'. WTF is that all about ?! ...guess that's where I start them. -
I now for a fact that Dicky's dawn of the dead, the one of two teams that had Bowie last year, didn't get his team mailed in time this year
-
Wow. Sad one. Kinda liked him.

2017 ddp. 3 points for any pick below 60 years old, diagnosed terminal/with Cancer prior to Jan 1st. That'd change the thinking a bit. (...gets coat, dons crash helmet, exits stage left)

Wondering if any of you run sweeps/snow balls throughout the year based on dying celebs/famous I run a Deadball where I draw 1 celeb for every player on the 1st Jan. This year that was 76 friends/Colleagues/family and the charge is 30p per week ( £16 up front by end of Jan). So kitty builds by £22.80 per week till its won. 2 or more deaths in same week before Sunday Midnight Splits the Kitty. If your name dies, you get a replacement from my reserve list. The extra 40p's from 16 quid entry fee goes on a bonus for the seventh death. Biggest payout last year was £298 split when Warren Mitchell and Helmut Schmidt went in the same week. Just interested if anyone runs or is in something similar, and how differently it is done ?

Not from what I researched 4 years back when I started it. It falls outside the realm of Casino gambling, and privately run sweepstakes, which is what it basically is, are permitted as long as no players attempt to influence the result. The papers here even supply sweepstake Kits sometimes for something, and there is no restriction on 'events'. Unless something's changed of course.

Used to run one in my work. Over £50 per week was paid into a pool (kitty) I charged 50 p per week. There were some high prizes won. I think the highest was about £650. what happened? Manager told me to stop it. Me to, well I just got banned from using work emails relating to it. I just moved it all to fb and ended up with more players.

Sandy gall is a news reporter for ITN if you live in Britain you should know him he reported on that network for years. Not a name known to the 20something year old who drew him though.
-
Put the list together myself. Try and make sure they are names known by most. As the majority of players are not really into dead pooling, and just treat it as a snowball, it keeps their interest when they know who they are. Only got one 'Who is Sandy Gall ? comment on its facebook group page.

I will be in this year as well.

I put him in my DDP this year as there was a brief clip of him on telly a month or so back, and he looked ripe for a departure. I had forgotten he existed, and was amazed he was still alive.

Could now 82 year old David Bellamy be getting close to an appearance on the list yet ?

Well if I play next year she is a shoe-in cuz family wouldn't care if she was healthy. Glad to see that's what's foremost on their minds at this time. Jesus Frikkin Christ....And I've no idea who the hell she is.... SC I've never heard of her either. I'd assume she's one of the cancer mums. Bit late, but thought I'd put my point over.... It was me who picked Miss Thomas. As you'll see from my team, its not a full of 'cancer mums/ young blighted' with Neil Cunningham being the other one, but that's only 'cos I'm involved in motorsport and knew of him. I only knew about Thomas through someone who knew of her, and thought she was fair game as she had actively sought publicity because of her Cancer. I did mail the boss to apologies for any grief I'd caused him, and although as stated, he was happy to keep her anonymously in the game/my team, I said I was happy to remove altogether and finish the year with 19 names. That's what happened, so though my team did shit, as least it did so with less celebs than everyone else ! Good luck to all for new year, in life and deadpooling.
