Don't be too sensationalistic. He was just a mayor of a 6000 people town and, from the few things I understand, he was already suffering from cancer.

    Notable Coronavirus Victims

Actually coronavirus is a matter of luck. Being here, I've seen 19 and 38 year-olds with no whatsoever issue going into a coma and still in ICU with 50% probability of survival. And I've seen 80 year olds with health issues recovering in a week. It is unpredictable, and that's not a valid reason to underestimate it.

Ok. That would replace well Serie A. It does not change she did not die of coronavirus.

Well, I give a quick answer: NO. Her funeral is public, if she'd died of coronavirus it would be forbidden. Beside that newspapers would have noticed, and coronavirus is not much diffuse in Tuscany still. Can confirm the eldest victim of coronavirus in Italy was 101.

    Political Frailty

Stanislaw Kania, who was First Secretary of Polish Communist Party in the 80s, has died at 92. This leaves few Polish communist heavyweights from the day; foreign ministers Stefan Olszowski (1931) and Marian Orzechowski (1931) and Prime Minister Edward Babiuch (1927) are the names that spring to mind. Surely a few others still going.

    Political Spouses

Barely three days later Vito Kapo, widow of Hysni Kapo, high ranking Communist politician who was assassinated died of pancreatic cancer in 1979, is dead at 97. She was Minister of Industry in the 80s and probably the very last high ranking cadre of Hoxha regime. It surprised me as she was in good health when interviewed late last year, and also commented on Hoxha's death a few days back. Now the only famous Albanian born in the 20s that springs to mind is former president Alfred Moisiu.

    From Cleric To Relic

YES! FINALLY! During his trip in Mexico he took part to a local Tortilla-eating contest, decisively winning it by eating six kilos of tortillas. A few hours later he fell into a coma and never woke up. A hero.
