Le Duc Anh's son Le Manh Ha has commented on Facebook about Dong Sy Nguyen's death. In the post he recalls he lived with Dong's family and the old men got the same military career, being the only two promoted to lieutenant-colonels in 1959, for merits in the war against the French. Anh and Nguyen met again, decades later, at 108 Military Hospital where Nguyen spent his last days with his old comrade. No actual update on mr. Anh's health, only he is still in hospital and will probably be there forever.

Two months without a hit. -
I know it's very late, but here is how Awadalla looked in his old age. Struggled very hard before finding a pic. This is from the early 2000s I believe.

NY Times obit for Ly Tong.

Ly Tong has died.

Đồng Sĩ Nguyên, who succeeded the late Do Muoi as Minister of Construction and who was also Deputy PM of Vietnam for nine years, has died aged 96. He was responsible for mantaining the Ho Chi Minh trail during the war and was interviewed in 2017 documentary The Vietnam War. The documentary also contained an interview to Republic of Vietnam colonel Trần Ngọc Châu, (1923), former DDP pick. Among the Southerners who fled to America I'd like to remember general Tran Thien Khiem (1925), the last PM of South Vietnam, who has received his Christening last year and was very frail. Oh, and dying mr. Ly Tong (1946) of course. Among the commies there's not only perennial 108 Hospital resident Le Duc Anh (1920). Legendary diplomat and vicepresident Nguyen Thi Binh (1927) is still doing relatively well, and among the living vice PMs we find Nguyen Con (1915, he came before Do Muoi and looks like a zombie), Tran Phuong (1927), Nguyen Ngoc Triu (1926), Nguyen Kahn (1928), Doan Duy Thanh (1929), a plethora of nobodies. More notable (but don't exaggerate) are general Nguyen Trong Vinh (1916) and influential linguist Vu Khieu (1916). And another mate of mr. Anh I can't find anything about right now, born in 1926.

Update on Ly Tong. He reacts to external stimuli, but he was diagnosed with liver disease and reportedly "nears death". It could be not so fast as everyone initially thought, though.

Thoughts and opinions on the death list 2019

Say what you want. I know thousands of very ill or very old people, thousands. During the last week only Agnes Varda, Ranking Roger and Joseph Pilato have died among the names I know. And fuck, there should be at least 20 deaths per week, judging how ill they are! Death is becoming duller and duller, medical science will prevail and biological immortality will be achieved in less than a century. And it will be the biggest disgrace for humanity. -
Don't know if you understood what was said in the video, but they reported she suffered a sudden illness in the last few months which has made her wheelchair bound and unable to speak. Will never be number one.

The "article" you linked, beside being a blog, is a piece of fake news for at least two reasons. 1)Moi is currently in his Kabarnet home in Nairobi, where he received the visit of the Ugandan president Museveni, as proved by this picture: As you see the old man does not look worse than usual. 2)He was briefly in hospital for routine check ups and was immediately discharged after completing them. No unknown reasons whatsoever. In conclusion Moi is not ill and is not going anywhere. And beware fake news, even Africa has its National Enquirers.

When you have to explain who they were they were usually nobodies. I don't blame you, it's just been one of the dullest months I can remember.

Likely. I have most doubts about Musharraf and Edrich, but the others should be safe.
-
Actually next year DL, after this year's epic fail (which is bound to happen), will bring back many old names. John Edrich, Ryder, Ozzy Osbourne, Pervez Musharraf and Bouteflika are those who spring to mind.

Obit for David White.

Parrikar spent the last year trying to minimize or deny his illness. His office never even said he suffered from cancer, they always called it "a pancreatic ailment". But the whole "too busy to die" thing is utter bullshit, so the outcome was certain. Before someone posts it here illuding me with the hope of a significant death (where it reads Le Duc Anh) former Ireland Minister for Finance Richie Ryan has died aged 90.
