Update on hospitalised folks, since an impressive lot has been discharged since last time: 1)Mahathir Mohamad (1925): still in hospital after almost two months, improving and expected to be discharged soon. Discharged. 2)Yuriko, Princess Mikasa (1923): out of ICU into regular ward, has "significantly improved". 3)Kaiti Grey (1924): out of ICU. Discharged. 4)Susana Baca (1944): no update, so still in ICU. 5)Swami Smaranananda (1929); unexplicably still alive on life support. DEAD. 6)Pratibha Patil (1934): chest infection and fever. 7)Milos Zeman (1944): serious but stable, thrombosis and complications from diabetes. 8) Nelson Acosta (1944): Alzheimer's since 2016, hospitalised with respiratory failure, for the third time in three years. 9)George Vassiliou (1931): president of Cyprus, condition unknown but not in ICU. 10)Roberto Duran (1951): hospitalised with heart disease.

A friend of my late beloved father in law who's the same age, 86, is suffering from bladder cancer, yet he looked very good at the funeral and it does not seem to affect him too much.

He is dead. If you watch the interview from 2022 on YouTube the first comment has been edited to acknowledge his death. Media are just being lazy.

Last week reviewed in terms of deaths of people I knew (I premise Toriyama is a huge death but happened on the 1st): Today: no one Yesterday: no one Thursday: Son Myung-soon (very minor South Korea first lady) Wednesday: no one Tuesday: Steve Marsh (only because of previous death hoax), Solihin GP (minor Immortal) Monday: Barbara Balzerani (barely famous in Italy), Kees Rijvers (legit significance) Sunday: Edward Bond (huge), Juli Lynne Chariot, Eleanor Collins (elders) Saturday: Mohammed Emami-Kashami (good riddance award), Mr Ibu (DP pick) Generally very underwhelming after a period in which it seemed better.
