Though Nicholas Parsons was known to be in pretty poor health in the last few months of his life mind.

Yeah, I tried looking up some past dead pooling names for fun and was stunned when Stefan Karl Stefansson was rejected. Only that I found out later that he was on after all, I just didn’t put any accents on. Although on that note I don’t know how they rejected Johnny Clegg entirely...

From what I can tell, Terrence Matthews was notorious for his crimes given the forum reaction so he’s staying in. Same with Larry Eckhardt. The fact that was able to have an impressive 500,000 flags planted for a good cause was good enough for me. It’s a low bar, yes, but he’s passed it. I was a little hesitant on Sooty Man, but I did find out that he got a local BBC award for his 35 years of philanthropy, so he just passed it. I may reconsider him in future rounds depending on the reactions from the forum though. I think at a glance I thought Mark McKneown looked more famous than he actually was, so that’s a bit of a whoopsie on my end. These last two days do have a lot of submissions does mean that the host could make an error on occasion. So on that note, I can confirm that Mark McKneown will not be an acceptable choice in the future. In fact, if the competitors agree with me on this, I think I’ll sub him out for March since it was a host error on my end. So Golam Gastagir Gazi will his place on Fear Beag’s team if the cup crowd oks subbing that pick in. In the future, if you have potential qualms about picks please speak up on the first few days so we don’t have to deal with pick issues this late again, ok?

What about him?

Laura Smith is a bit of a popular pick. For one, I actually score!!! But I can’t celebrate that much since Sir Creep also scores with her too, keeping his 9 point lead in place. As for other ties, Skinny gets three points and now takes the lead due to age. Grim finally gets some points in his tie. And it’s a 6 point tie lead too, as she was his joker. Similarly, Wormfarmer leads in his tie, although it’s only 3 points rather than 6. Another tie which gets some points is the Deadsox tie. And Quim Reaper too. Yes a lot of ties that haven’t scored are now getting points. In fact, that only leaves grobler vs John Key without any points. What about everyone else? Well, msc and Banana take a decisive 6 point lead against Biblio and Spade, and they seem to be all ready for April already. Fear Beag now takes a lead in his tie against AO Guy, which is turning into a round to watch for sure. That leaves both the ties of Reptile and Torva and Clorox and FixedBusiness, where both people in the tie has picked him. So, with that said... Skinny Kiltrunner vs JiroemonKimura 6 - 6 Grobler vs John Key 0 - 0 Engineer vs Grim 0 - 6 YoungWillz vs Wormfarmer 0 - 3 Bibliogryphon vs msc 0 - 6 Torva vs Reptile 9 - 6 Banana vs Spade_Cooley 12 - 6 Quim Reaper vs Deathray 3 - 0 Maryport vs Deadsox 0 - 3 Oldlady vs DeathByArsenic 3 - 6 An Fear Bag vs Alt Obits Guy 6 - 3 DDT vs Book 9 - 6 Sir Creep vs Joey Russ 12 - 3 Chorizo vs HDS 6 - 6 Death Impends vs Ethushishispushingupdaisies 6 - 0 Clorox vs FixedBusiness 12 - 3

Who will win the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020?

This is a great example on why Biden will lose to Trump if he is in fact the Democratic nominee. This compares him from his debate with Paul Ryan in 2012 to Biden today. It’s honestly really sad to see how far he went: -

Would actually guess the opposite will happen given what happened with Al Gore, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton... -
K Anbazhagan has died, and it shakes up a couple of ties. Jiroemon and Banana have now taken the lead in their respective ties, which makes things interesting for sure. But do Skinny and Spade have a comeback planned? We’ll have to wait and see. DDT also takes a lead in his tie against Book vía joker points. The last person who had him? Er, Sir Creep. Who’s giving me a very strong squonking for sure... I think a lot of people are underestimating Trump tbh. If Biden wins the nomination, I think Trump will beat him no problem. One, Biden is barely coherent at times, and two, Trump will be able to run to the left of Biden on certain issues like trade. Don’t get me wrong, I want Trump our of office, but I think a lot of people assume that he’s not that strong. It’s actually quite the opposite. Biden is basically Hillary 2.0 except he’s less coherent and he isn’t a woman... -

You saw nothing. I didn’t make an error because I’m feeling super ill right now, honest.

So Rip Oliver is dead. Rip to him. May he forever Rest In Peace. RIP. Super bad joke aside, he was a very popular pick in this round including multiple jokers. So where do we begin? Well, many teams are now drawer since he was super popular. Skinny vs Jiroemon, Banana vs Spade, Fear Beag vs AO Guy all are still neck and neck because they both share Oliver. Chorizo and HDS as well, since both of them picked him as their joker. Then, both Torva and Reptile had him, but Torva picked Oliver as his joker. Still, a long ways to go mind. Death Impends showing why he’s among the best and takes a 6 point lead for Oliver. Book also jokered him when DDT didn’t have him, although it’s only a 3 point lead rather than a 6 point one since DDT did have Asa Ellison. Msc said he was expecting to be beaten by Biblio, but the early Oliver hit shows that his team can’t really be underestimated. So who’s left? Well, Sir Creep expands his lead against me, making my chances of making a comeback very grim indeed. Perhaps more grim though is FixedBusiness. Clorox is now ahead of him by 9 points. So maybe I won’t face the biggest squonking after all... Skinny Kiltrunner vs JiroemonKimura 3 - 3 Grobler vs John Key 0 - 0 Engineer vs Grim 0 - 0 YoungWillz vs Wormfarmer 0 - 0 Bibliogryphon vs msc 0 - 3 Torva vs Reptile 6 - 3 Banana vs Spade_Cooley 6 - 6 Quim Reaper vs Deathray 0 - 0 Maryport vs Deadsox 0 - 0 Oldlady vs DeathByArsenic 0 - 6 An Fear Bag vs Alt Obits Guy 3 - 3 DDT vs Book 3 - 6 Sir Creep vs Joey Russ 6 - 0 Chorizo vs HDS 6 - 6 Death Impends vs Ethushishispushingupdaisies 6 - 0 Clorox vs FixedBusiness 9 - 0

What this Biden win is, it’s the organization of the establishment to say that’s the one. After he one the state he was expected to win in (South Carolina). It is actually an organization effort for Biden too, just not the Sanders type win. While Biden looking more and more like he’ll be the eventual nominee (who’ll then lose to Trump), I wouldn’t count out Bernie quite yet, as delegate wise I think it’ll basically be a draw due to California and close margins in Texas. Just that he has a very uphill battle to win it, especially if Warren stays in as a spoiler... -

Her campaign said that she’d push on to the next states already despite her abysmal night. It’s clear to me at this point that she’s in it to prevent Sanders on getting the nomination, not to actually be the nominee. Especially now that both Buttigieg and Klobuchar went for Biden -

Super Tuesday turned out to be a disaster. Biden even winning fecking Minnesota and Massachusetts. It’ll likely be him as the nominee at this point, and almost certainly looks like Trump will win a second term. And that’s even with the fact that Texas still might go to Bernie, but even if that’s true Biden will still likely be the overall winner of the night. And for the record, I never want to here from anyone on here that Warren is a progressive ever again. She’s clearly not. She’s just in the race to be a spoiler at this point. She never cared about progressive change at all. -

I don’t think it’ll be that impactful since the Guardian will still cover a lot of those names, but there’s certainly some names now you’d have to think twice about before you put them on your team.

I have a great idea for a dead pool. I'm not sure on the final details yet, but I know it's going to be based around people 50 and under. Rules that I know so far: Must have a qualifiable obit; basically same obit rules as the DDP. 20 names of people 50 and younger for each person (no animals such as koko the gorilla). Once a candidate turns 51, you must replace it with another name. If someone gets a hit, the hit will be permanent, and you don't have to remove that person. You cannot replace one of your candidates because someone else is dying; UNLESS the person had turned 51, at which point that candidate is no longer eligible OR if a candidate doesn't get an obit in 3 months. The first person to get all 20 hits win. Suggest anymore helpful rules please. And list your candidates now.

So photographer Asa Ellison is a bit of a popular cult name this time around, with many of the all time cup greats picking him. First off, both Banana and Spade had him on their squad, in what’s expected to be the most exciting match of this month. DDT also begins to edge out book in his goal to make it past round 2 unlike March. Clorox used his joker against FixedBusiness, as did DeathByArsenic. Finally, my squonking is beginning, as Sir Creep gets his very first hit against me, and proving while he lost in round 1 he’s still one of the ones to watch. Anyway, points!
