What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Joey Russ replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This has never been my favorite album from the group, but it has really grown on me during the past few months: -
Well, not for 2019 though...

So, How's Your 2019 Shortlist Looking?
Joey Russ replied to RadGuy's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Iirc, Sir Creep has around 25 deaths or so for his list in 2016, though he did fill it up with a bunch of nobodies... -
Yeah, but it wasn’t posted here, so that was unnecessary...

Trying to campaign him for a spot on the Crowdsource list, aren’t ya? -

Only 5 locks right now, all pretty obvious names. Not spending as much time worrying about it as there’s other stuff that need priority, but I’m hoping for another respectable performance next year considering how well I’m doing this year... -
Hm, no. The fact that I had to made multiple adjustments to the rules I felt were necessary meant that it took nearly a half hour for me to complete that part.
-
That was more to TomTomKeleton rather than you.

As someone who isn’t British, I don’t take names that I don’t know about and just immediately call them crap picks. Instead, I look them up and read about their lives before making a final judgement (and truthfully, a lot of them are fascinating). I don’t mind if they are not in your taste, but I absolutely despise people calling a pick bad just because they don’t know about them. And like they said, we don’t have a say in them, only the committee does...
-
Well, it could’ve been worse...

This article talks about him being in hospice. Admittedly it could be a similar situation as Bishop Quinn, but he’s a fascinating enough name that I picked him twice.

Hm, if we’re analyzing how we feel about the surviving candidates: Kirk Douglas - Well, he seems to be wheelchair bound right now, so not a bad bet on him dying within the next year, though if he makes it to 2019, he would be on more Deathlists than Clive Dunn. Leah Bracknell - Well, I’d say she pretty likely to see out the year. As for whether she’s a good call for 2019 or not I would wait to see how the trial goes, if she’s doing well, she’s one to drop, if news suggests otherwise, well, that would be a much harder call... Herman Wouk - A centenarian with breathing problems. Can’t seem to understand how he lasted this long. Olivia de Havilland - Undroppable, but will likely see out the year Prince Philip - It’s weird, the health updates for him seems to swing differently, and I’m not sure what to believe entirely Betty White - Looks pretty good at a recent public appearance, but tbh, I wouldn’t drop her at this point. Maybe a lower rank, but I think she’s on till she drops Linda Nolan - Cancer isn’t going to kill her anytime soon. She should be fine for a few years barring any new updates. Javier Perez de Cuellar - Was a victim of a death hoax recently. I don’t care what the committee does with him, though he’s probably on till he dies partly because he reached that point that feels like they’re on for the keeps Pierre Cardin - In a similar boat as JPDC, minus the death hoax. Stan Lee - Has had his roughest year yet with all the lawsuits he had to go through, and frankly it was quite sad to watch, though at least he seems to be somewhat better now. But he should be on till he drops Stirling Moss - Has retired due to poor health and has been silence since. Won’t be long now imo, though who knows if it’s this year or next. Doris Day - Agreed with Chorizo, too old to drop at this point, even though she could live for a few more years indeed. Bob Dole - Yeah, he’s looking much worse in the past year, and probably won’t see his centenary Bob Barker - His recent hospitalizations seem to suggest that he won’t see his centenary. One of the more drastic changes of someone going from decent health to poorer health Prunella Scales - There doesn’t seem to be anything that suggests that she could dropped in the near future. I think she’s okay to drop Jimmy Carter - Yes, he’s in good health, but considering that they have gotten every president since the deathlist began (and that there’s a good chance of them missing Bill Clinton or Trump imo), you can see why he would be an annoying miss. Leslie Phillips - Has been pretty quiet after the old and frail news. Definitely dead by 2020 considering that the quiet frail health folk seem to die then like Sallis and Norden Jill Gascoine - Seems to have articles reminiscent of the likes of Tony Booth at this point, and frankly it’s quite sad to read Vera Lynn - Seems fine at the moment, but there’s only one way she’s exiting the list. Robert Mugabe - Again, he’s probably on till he drops, and who wouldn’t celebrate when this former tyrant goes? Though it would be a sad day for the deathlist George Bush Sr - One of those “how is he still here?” names. Surprised that he hasn’t ranked higher since his debut tbh Henry Kissinger - Again, I think he’s reached that age where he should be on till he drops despite being active, though who knows what the committee will Honor Blackman - I think she’s doing well enough to be dropped next year despite past health problems, though could easily be next year’s dies right after they’re taken off names Dick van Dyke - Too active right now, although in a few years time he’s on till he drops imo. Stanley Baxter - Been very silent all year, but due to choice of candidates, I think he may be a difficult drop for them Valery Giscard d’Estaing - Seems well enough at the moment, could be dropped for a year or two Mel Brooks - Personally I think he’s too big to miss, but I completely understand why the committee is likely to drop him next year Pope Benedict - Whether he’s actually quite ill or not is a bit iffy, but he’s one of those too big to miss names June Brown - I guess she seems a bit frail, but truthfully I don’t really know if she gets dropped or not Hosni Mubarak - He could easily see a few more years imo, although him dying within the next year wouldn’t shock either. Probably on till he drops though Sean Connery - Now here’s an interesting one. He could die soon or last a few more years since there are some conflicting reports on his health. On the one hand, he’s only 88 so could last a few years off the list. On the other hand, could easily see him be part of the next generation of deathlist legends. Louis Farrakhan - I think he could be dropped since he doesn’t seem that unhealthy Ian St John - Had cancer, seems to have gotten better without telling us, probably could get dropped next year without worry Jimmy Greaves - He does seem ill, but honestly, I think he’s one of those on a year off a year type names, like Stephen Hawking was. Valerie Harper - Has been quiet for about a year now. Who knows what she’s suffering from right now. Another bout of brain cancer? Dementia? One of the big question marks. Clive James - Tbh, it does seem like the end of the road is coming to him soon with breathing and sight issues (and I’m not just saying this because he’s a plausible DDP victory route for me). Still not sure if I would carry him over on my DDP team or not, but should definitely be on the deathlist till he dies Ronnie Wood - Cancer is in remission, still is touring with The Rolling Stones. An easy drop Olivia Newton-John - It could be argued that she’s too big to miss, with her having a cancer that is actually terminal. I think she could last a few more years, but I also think she could be dead within the next year as well. Think she should see 2019 though Joni Mitchell - Somehow I don’t think she’ll be here in 2 - 3 years time, though will probably be dropped off the list due to choice of candidates Paul Gascoigne - Tbh, he does seem to be going the George Best route, but Best lasted till he was nearly 60, so I would drop him for a few years at least (and I probably wouldn’t put him back on unless he gets cancer or is in hospice, but that’s just me).

Could it be because Broadway only happens in NY? Maybe the two threads can be merged and it get renamed to theater or something like that?
-
Wait, can you repeat that? I can’t seem to hear you at the moment...

Ah well, this month is a bust, so since I don’t expect any of them to go tomorrow, I’ll enter my team for November. 1. Bill Freehan 2. Reverend Robert Graetz (was #1 in August) 3. Jean Marie Le Pen 4. Simon Ricketts 5. Tim Conway

Hopefully it’s just one of his many rivers to cross before his death...
-
Ah, but I do remind you that the past 2 AVALDP were won by people with a legitimate claim to fame, so that won’t be necessary here, for now...
-
She was the Manic Street Preacher mum. Was also the winning pick for Dead Cow in the most recent MMMDP...

@YoungWillz Irene Jones is also dead as well.

A. I started it because there needs to be enough time for people to try to get their favorite names into the public knowledge. If started it around the time that the submission period opened, it wouldn’t be enough time for people to do that. B. This is the only time I’m able to start this thread in a while cause there’s other aspects of my life that I need to focus on right now. C. I also thought it was good to start both this thread and the Advent Avalanche around the same time Hopes this helps explain the reason why I did it this early...

Deathrace Form Guide #9: This asshole has already lasted 2 years of his presidency, but will he finally get fired in early January?

I do need to remind you that DDT didn’t win in 2018, but the, er, 2015 winner won last year...
