The photo of him in the article does look like he has deteriorated at least a little bit.

He is one of many people who thanked the NHS in a recent Guardian article. So he’s not completely silent then and he probably has at least a few months left, but the last two paragraphs of his piece does sound slightly ominous...

John Cocks is also doing immunotherapy iirc. Think his cancer is more advanced than Willissee, but it’s the immunotherapy that makes me think Cocksy is more of a 2019 fatality. Think with the cancer spread and the bleach he’s drinking he won’t be here in a few years time, but until we get another update on him, I’m going with him seeing the year out...

I think he’ll likely get a Guardian obit. Pretty sure I’m not the only one who had him on their longlist but saw him as doing too well despite stage 4 cancer...

There was a name that did show up in my research, but from what I read, he was still doing alright...

Got to have deteriorated a lot further than we expected if he’s resigning so soon. Even Ted Kennedy didn’t resign while he was alive...

Youwanticewiththat hasn’t logged in to the forums since April, so I’m not sure if she’s coming back. I hope everything is okay with her...

Oh, I think gcreptile will be winning more pools in the future. He's one that will probably win the DDP in a few years or so...

I only see 4 on Wormfarmer’s post. But I would give him some time, he did say that he was in the middle of moving...

Yay, I got the wooden spoon for this one. Congrats gcreptile on the win.

Has three new charges against him, and he could be spending the rest of his life in prison . Thank fuck for that. EDIT: Is their a reason why this thread is in extracurricular rather than the main forum?

Anyone one who had at least some coverage due to a blog will most likely get a QO. Whereas your Mount Everest climbers who got tons of news on their climb get absolutely nothing.

I think I saw a post on Facebook focusing on that subject and assumed that it’s focused on that topic, especially since I searched “Justice Kennedy Russia” and that showed as the top result. Apologies for the wrong link... EDIT: Here’s a snopes article fact checking the matter, which it’s currently shown as unproven...

Justice Kennedy may have resigned from the court due to his son’s connection to the Russia investigation. If true, that makes me lose the little respect that I have for him.

Tbf, my April team was pretty shite. Only Vader and Wilkins died from that squad so far, and some such as Odelein will probably be alive for many years to come. But I certainly thank you for calling me a strong young player, that gives me some optimism in a bit of a rough time in my personal life right now. I think that you definitely have great potential in dead pooling, and I certainly look forward to seeing you finally win your first dead pool whenever that comes... EDIT: Forgot about Fu Da-ren who was on my April squad, so that’s three. It was still shite though...

I think every team is great truthfully. I can’t call a winner on this one because truthfully, any team could win both hit wise and point wise...

New Here And Just Saying Hello

Well, half of my team has died and obitted. Here's what I think about the other 10 as we enter the 2nd half of the year: Leah Bracknell: I would've thought that she'd be dead by now, but she continues to be alive. But yeah, her lungs being drained, as well as the fact that she was more pessimistic in her interviews this year makes me think she's going sooner rather than later. 95% John Cocks: I'm starting to feel that he might be more of a 2019 fatality than 2018, but that doesn't mean he won't die in 2018. He has past his given life expectancy, he can't do chemo due to a tumor near his spine, and he's drinking that same bleach that Colin Meads did. Even if he dies though, his obit isn't guaranteed although two of my main punts did work in my favor. 70% Stuart Fraser: We have received almost no news on him besides the fact that he's appearing a new album (though that really means nothing), but nothing healthwise since his benefit. Therefore, I'm not sure if he's dying this year or later. 55% Greg Gilbert: The alternative treatment is working really well on him. Usually a wedding means that he's likely on the way out, but as I said before, he's looking more and more like a Daisy Berkowitz figure. 25% Clive James: Went from being very chatty to almost nothing in the past year. That raises a red flag for me. 90% John McCain: When I did the group analysis, I gave 2 10/10: Cappotelli and McCain. Still active on Twitter, but since it seemed like he has been on the way out since May, he probably is a goner. 95% Linda Nolan: I really should've looked at Bernie's case before I picked her. She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010, and it didn't start spreading until late2012/early 2013. With that timeline in mind, she's probably a good 2020/2021 pick. But no way is she going this year. 5% Fernando Ricksen: I think Joost looked similar to Ricksen around this time in 2016, so I think he's more of an early 2019 fatality. But if he does die this year, it wouldn't surprise me. 60% Stefan Karl Stefansson: He does look better than you think, but 6 months is a very long time for someone who isn't doing treatment anymore. 85% Marieke Vervoort (joker): I think that euthanasia isn't going to happen anymore, but I'm still not entirely convinced that she'll see 2019. The fact that she was hospitalized for a long while this year and that harrowing update in April makes me think that a natural death isn't as unlikely as you think. 60%

Obviously I didn't win, but my proudest moment in this has to be getting the first hit in the entire cup, and he was unique. The constant "please pray for Mowzey Radio" struck me as being optimistic, especially when paired with the he'll get better soon...
