Just wondering, how many teams have entered this so far?
-
Dude, you do understand that saying that on the forum will make it more likely that your opponent is not going to buy it, right?

There was one footballer who had one week to live back in May of last year. Can’t be bothered to remember his name though. Since I’m not expecting two deaths to bring me in the lead in the next 48 hours, I would like to congratulate @Sir Creep on your win against me. Ultimately, my prediction for our match turned to be correct, which is either both having high scoring match, or me falling behind you. However, even if some of my subs replaced the poorer picks, this outcome would remain the same. Ultimately, I’m just proud of making an improvement from last round, which saw me go from round one last year to round three this time. I’m not necessarily going to root for you next round (I mean, the opponent is Dead Cow, another one deserving to win), but I do wish you luck in the next round.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

I’m now listening to Let It Be by The Beatles on vinyl. Sounds great. -
Just so I could get a better understanding of what’s going on, who’s Bonnyrigg and who’s Rose?

Looks like I can add Larry Harvey to the small list of significant individuals who died on my birthday...
-
Well, looks like some major news websites (not qualifying ones yet though) are already reporting on him, so I guess I have some breathing room of not having a miss, well, for now...
-
Wanted to include him on Windy City, but a part of me felt his obit chances (despite being more lenient than most pools here) was too risky...

Movie spoilers. There's a movie I plan on seeing tomorrow, and I think I already saw a spoiler to that film just by looking at a meme on social media. Hope I'm wrong, but really annoying if true.

Sadly, he’s dead...

When I tried clicking on the link, it leads to a dead end...

Not a Peter Falk joke this time (promise), but iirc, they admitted that he was close to making the 2011 list in his thread after he died...

Oh wait. I meant to post it in the DL Status Update threads, but realized I posted it in the very wrong thread. Can a kind mod please move the posts to the right thread? -

Kristin Nelson, widow of Ricky Nelson dead at 72 according to Facebook. I suspect that a few of the longer researchers had her on their long list... -
Er, probably because the first major health problem didn’t come until 2018...

After some talk with msc, I can now officially confirm that I will taking over the Crowdsourced List starting with the 2019 list. I would like to thank msc for running this very well in the last 3 years, and I’m looking forward to running this starting at November when the first list comes in.

I have just sent my team since I will be very busy this weekend. Decided to only put six of my surviving DDP team members on it since I wanted to make room for people I don't think will see 2019, and made it so that no obit gambles made the final lineup... Well, apart from the two near the bottom. Jose Jose and Bush Sr only made the sub bench, whereas the likes of Dean Francis and Bob Dole didn't even make the subs bench... EDIT: Everyone has also been publicly mentioned at least once...

I don’t see why it shouldn’t count, but imo, you would really need some good luck with him in order to have one published for him. I’d love to see an obituary from a major news site to a highly acclaimed actor in the Philippines, but he hasn’t crossed over into the UK during his lifetime, so unlikely to happen (though he’s quite the fascinating individual, I must admit). If there’s one person that I had to choose to send a letter to the Guardian to write an obit for though, its Cynthia Heimel. Another fascinating character but got mentioned multiple times in the Guardian in the past, yet, apart from the now dropped Independent, received no UK coverage. Disappointing really...

At least it makes the Windy City shortlist easier...

Phil Spector is still alive after he went to prison though.

I honestly doubt that. Even if she doesn’t get euthanized, the last health update is making me think that 2019 would require some miracle...

I think this is the more apt thread for Vervoort. Speaking of which, she's planning to attend an exhibition focused on her life, which opens on May 4th. However, it's the last thing on the bucket list according to those articles...
