I just mentioned Vervoort in my last post, and looking at the most recent update in the last day, things aren't looking too good for her right now (apologies if this doesn't translate for some of you)...

Of the popular under 50 names for this year DDP excluding Goodwin, who seemed like an obit punt (ie Matt Cappotelli, Dean Francis, Greg Gilbert, Devin Lima, Liam Miller, Fernando Ricksen, Stefan Karl Stefansson, and Marieke Vervoort), only Miller has died so far, and the only real cert of those at this point is Stefansson, though he still has a few months left imo. I'm now thinking it's probably too early for Cappotelli (who was only on my team as a defense pick) and Ricksen, and Greg Gilbert is starting to seem more like a long term case. The best under 50 picks minus Stefansson are Dean Francis, Devin Lima (who's not on my team), and Marieke Vervoort imo. But I could still see those three surviving the year. Francis's gofundme closed in July of last year, and he still seems to be doing okay, while Lima, while has been notably silent since his diagnosis, was only diagnosed last October. And of course, Vervoort keeps holding back on her euthanasia, though I still have a feeling that she's not going to see the year out despite her holding back. I'm wondering if going for less high point picks is a better strategy for next year...

Actually, I've noticed that while there was a Rick Davies update in 2016 of cancer being cleared, there has been no Supertramp update since the cancellation of their European tour. Interesting. Personally, I don't think he's on the clock yet, but I have a gut feeling that he won't be here in five years time...

Well, I don’t think he’s in remission (unless you have some deep inside info I didn’t know about), but he’s been doing a lot of public appearances recently that probably makes him safe for the next few months. Although I still put him in my April squad, though the lineup intention is to be quite wild anyways...

Aye, I remember that some poor sod fell for a “cult pick” in 2017 since he didn’t research that he was in remission (or as close to remission as possible) before he foolishly chose him for the DDP...

Brackers has been notably silent. So has Stirling Moss and Herman Wouk. McCain, while still active on Twitter, has not given an update on his health in recent days. And I get the feeling that Bob Dole and Stan Lee aren’t really doing too well health wise. So there’s a lot of potential hits in the future, but it could easily be one of the weaker years for the deathlist. Or it could be stronger (as two of their three hits could be considered gambles)...
