Now using the crowdfunded money for treatment not at the NHS...

I think she was put on for the just in case cancer takes a sudden turn for worse later in the year. But yeah, a very high likelihood to see the year out, especially since she's still very active. And yes, I wouldn't be surprised if her cancer is already in remission (though I can't say the same for the other just in case pick, Linda Nolan)...

I doubt spamming threads will change anything...

I was more talking about everyone in general and not just you...

But if they die and don't obit, that won't do you no good either...

Really on a hot streak once the obit for Sara Chivers comes...

She was the last cancer mum I dropped. I don't regret that decision even though I knew she was going to die...

I only remembered 4 people being subbed wit you. And in the off chance that you did have to use more than 5 subs, my leniency would’ve let you have another one come by without taking away points...

And now, the very first leaderboard. I did say that the bonuses are hidden, but if the participants remember from last year, there were some bonuses. First things first, almost everyone will receive 1 point for their public team reveal. The only two teams that PM'd their team to me, msc and Phantom of the Midway, will receive zilch. Next, if you didn't completely fill up the subs bench, you'll gain a point for each emptied spot. Subs that already have been in used or subs that are repeats of main team members do not count. Only The Dead Cow started with a completely empty subs bench, but since Kamprad went before the start, he lost one of his points. Still, he is currently in the lead. As for other people, leaving two subs open seems to be a popular choice to some, and because of that, Book, Gooseberry Crumble, Pedro67, Toast, and Torva Messor will receive two points. On the other hand, if you read the team list, you'll notice that msc still had eight subs remaining, and he started with ten. Because he went over the five subs, which is clearly in the rules, I will be docking him 1 point for each extra sub. However, instead of him losing five points, I'll only take the three that is currently shown in the team masterlist because I feel kind. I won't necessarily be so nice to the next person who does this (hopefully no one else does this again). Finally, a new bonus that I'm trying out, I'm going to give a point to the person who posted their team first and last. I have excluded my self for this so I'm at a disadvantage, so the winners of the first and last bonus point is FixedBusiness and CastAway. Here are the scores! 1st - The Dead Cow - 5 points 2nd= - Book - 3 points 2nd= - Gooseberry Crumble - 3 points 2nd= - Pedro67 - 3 points 2nd= - Toast - 3 points 2nd= - Torva Messor - 3 points 7th= - CastAway - 2 points 7th= - FixedBusiness - 2 points 9th= - Bibliogryphon - 1 point 9th= - CaptainChorizo - 1 point 9th= - Death Impends - 1 point 9th= - drol - 1 point 9th= - Heef - 1 point 9th= - Joey Russ - 1 point 9th= - Unknown Man - 1 point 9th= - YoungWilz - 1 point 17th - Phantom of the Midway 0 points 18th - Msc - negative 3 points

Some thoughts: First off, take a second to thank Book, as he was the only person to have all three people who failed to make the starting line on his main lineup team. I wouldn't of been able to mention this awesome stat otherwise Death Impends also had 3 people on his team in some way, but Masekela was a sub, so he turned out to be unnecessary for him. drol also had Kamprad as a sub, which is kind of ironic that the subs actually died before the starting line when there intention is to replace the dead that didn't make it. As I mentioned, there were 18 teams who entered, which is 5 more than last year. There was actually a pick who appeared on all the teams this time (yes, even my randomized one), and that was Leah Bracknell. But this really wouldn't have been possible without YoungWilz, who originally had her on the subs bench. So I think it's the first time that I have seen a pick appear on all the teams in one pool, and I think that's really cool. Speaking of appearing on a lot of teams, here is everyone who has appeared on ten or more teams: 10: Dean Francis, Jimmy Greaves, Valerie Harper, Sidney Poitier 11: Olivia de Havilland, Dilip Kumar, Devin Lima, Stefan Karl Stefansson 12: Kirk Douglas, Jose Jose, Liam Miller 13: Matt Cappotelli, Jill Gascoine, Charlotte Rae 14: Reverend Billy Graham, John McCain, Fernando Ricksen, Herman Wouk, Franco Zefferelli 15: George Bush Sr, Greg Gilbert, Tessa Jowell, Marieke Vervoort 16: Clive James, Stirling Moss 17: Nobby Stiles 18: Leah Bracknell The only reason why Nobby wasn't on all the teams was due to the fact that your host completely randomized his team. James and Moss both didn't appear on my team and one other person, so they could fall behind if they die (there won't be a bonus for being on ten or more teams though). Also, here is the list of people who have been jokered by 3 or more people: 3: Valerie Harper, Catherine Nevin, Herman Wouk 4: Tessa Jowell, Nobby Stiles 10: Marieke Vervoort 11: Leah Bracknell 12: John McCain This does show that there is a lot of diversity in the jokers on everyone's team, though if Bracknell, McCain, and Vervoort were on someone's team, they were more likely to be jokered than not. Let's give an honorable mention (or dishonorable mention to some of them) to the jokers that didn't appear on anyone's team that wasn't due to death Bashar Al-Assad Colin Baker Justin Bieber Pat Cooper David Crosby Macaulay Culkin Rene De Obaldia Harrison Dillard Wiliam Dunlop Maulana Fazullah Albert Finney Donnie Galyon Seth Green Richard Harries Mike Hollingsworth Ivan Ivanov Wilko Johnson Jim Kelly Beryl Le Gros Lindsay Lohan James May John McDonnell Ken McNaught Donald Moffat Nichelle Nichols Jack Nicholson Margaret Deirdre O'Neill Dolly Parton Randy Quaid Woizlawa-Feodora Elise Marie E Reuss Livia Rev Cliff Richard Mark Rylance Thomas Schaffernacker Charlie Sheen Pauly Shore Chas Smash Amber Snailham Pam St Clement Geraint Thomas Bella Thorne Clint Walker Harvey Weinstein Daniella Westbrook Tony Joe White Jane Withers Finally, while this isn't a stat, yes @Toast, I do plan on moving them to the opening post when I have more time. But I can't do it tonight...

Alright, I make it that 18 teams have entered this year, which is an improvement on the 13 that entered last year. So I have the team list right in spoilers since it would take way too long of a post without it: The alphabetized list to follow...

It'll be a while before I am able to post stats, but the end time is still the same...

Vervoort is a little different from Falkholt. The rule states that if the unnatural event occurs within the year, then the bonus would be given. So if she gets euthanized this year, it could logically give her points since it's still unnatural and it occurs in the same year. That said, I don't honestly expect her to get unnatural points since she's letting everyone know that she is going to be euthanized...

Well, some thoughts on at least two years 1990: All of the major contender's jokers would almost most certainly be Ryan White. One of those very rare cases of a FFBI transcending into more than just a person in their last days, so I think he might've been drop 40 even if it was around back then 1993: Arthur Ashe would probably be my first guess. However, some might've jokered Nureyev since he was clearly on his way out in 1992... -

No doubt in 1978 that John Cazale would've been all the major contenders jokers. Likely would've been a deathlist hit as well... -
Talking about what I think of drol's picks did make me think about my own surviving picks. So here's an update: Leah Bracknell - The video and her public appearance shows it all. She's looking more and more frail, so she'll probably die. I'm still guessing early March with her, ala Simon and Crowe. 95% Matt Cappotelli - When I originally posted about my major gut feeling for 2019 pick would be my joker for the B Team, it was actually him, not Newton-John. But there were two reasons why I moved him onto the main team at last minute. First, I wanted to get rid of the final FFBI that was still on my line up so I can have a team filled with people with some claim to fame (Sara Chivers to be more specific). But more importantly, I felt like that not having him and falling behind would be a bigger risk than him surviving the year. Still, glioblastoma is very dangerous (and I don't believe he'll live to five years at all). 75% John Cocks - Nothing has changed with him. We probably won't hear any news with him till his death, and even then he might not obit. But I believe he's a cert to die. 80% Jacqui Forster - Well, her health has deteriorated as of an update very recently, so I think she'll probably die this year. But it's the obit that is the true gamble. I could see her not getting an obit, but, as I have realized with Derek Dudley, the UK are really a lot bigger on football than I had realized. 70% Dean Francis - Could see 2019, but more likely won't since there was a period that he went through bullshit alternatives. 85% Stuart Fraser - Lung cancer is a bastard, but we haven't heard anything from him since the benefit concert. Don't know if that means he got better, but he may not even obit at this point. 60% Greg Gilbert - Well, a lot of the stuff he's currently doing are some of the red flags I recognize when I research on people. The lung lesions that are growing makes me think he's sooner rather than later. 95% Vanessa Goodwin - Another one that might not obit, but considering her position before she resigned, I think she at least a decent chance of her obitting. 85% Clive James - His most recent article seemed like a reflection on his life. I think he has finally come to an acceptance with his cancer battle. 80% Tessa Jowell - Struggling with her words during a parliament session. Closer to weeks rather than months. 99% John McCain - He still hasn't returned to the senate despite reports of him improving. I actually don't think he's well at all, and that the senate return is more of a hope rather than an expectation. 95% Liam Miller - Says he's not well at all after denying death rumors. Likely another major fatality of pancreatic cancer. 90% Linda Nolan - Like drol, if there was one person I would replace in hindsight, it's her. Cancer hasn't spread to her vital organs yet, and while it isn't impossible for it to spread, it's still unlikely imo. 20% Fernando Ricksen - If I was just focusing on Joost's timeline for ALS, I wouldn't have chosen him. However, the most recents articles give me a very ominous vibe, which makes me think it's sooner rather than later. Still, he may last another year. 75% Stefan Karl Stefansson - His cancer is very aggressive, and while he very likely won't die tomorrow, when it does eventually return (and I think it will later this year) it'll finish him off. Still, it's a waiting game of when. 70% Morgan Tsvangirai - Constantly denying rumors of poor health, but I think it's more to protect privacy rather than to deny something that isn't true. 80% Marieke Vervoort - She wants to see her mother's birthday in February. However, it is clear that she has been suffering a lot, and while it's not as early as we think, she'll probably be euthanized around March/April. 99%

You still have a very decent team to compete with. At the very least, I expect you to get Bracknell, Gilbert, Goldberg, Jose, Jowell, McCain, Miller, and Vervoort, and Cappotelli, Francis, Lorimer, and Tapie are likely. I think you’ll likely have 16 hits, with (imo) Clegg, Heine, Lima, and Nolan surviving the year. Top five is very plausible...
-
Also, one team had Mary Lucas, who is a definite list of the poster at this point...

Just something I noticed, I can't seem to click back on 2017 in the archives section if I wanted to go view past hits for that year. Also, your first update seemed to have disappeared. Is there any chance that it's also with the 2017 archives that I can't click on? Besides those two things, another fantastic update...
