You know it's going to be real interesting next year, cause if most, if not all the gambles come into fruition, I could easily see a podium place for me by the end of the year. That said, I can easily see myself not getting any of my gambles and fall out of the top 20 next year. But there certainly is risk involved if you want to win, and there is lot of risky teams this year. DDT, for example, has a lot of the names that he mentioned himself on the forum, and a lot of 70 - 80 year olds with no drop 40 chance, as well as not going for any FFBI types this year (a gamble that I am taking myself). GCReptile didn't go for Stefansson or Gilbert, and a lot of his team are could die tomorrow or could die in a few years type names. Plus, he got slightly unlucky with losing two picks and having to replace them with 80 - 90 year olds with no drop 40 chance. But people have won with picks those ages who didn't make the drop 40 as recently as last year (Mario Soares). So I honestly think it's going to be a while before we can start to see who the real contenders are because there are so many gambles on most teams...

Since the official deadline for obits are now closed, I will once again congratulate Bert on his win on the DDP. It's certainly exciting to see someone other than DQSBP to win this for once. As for me, I certainly had a learning debut appearance. Jokering FFBI is not a good idea, nor is falling for a "cult pick", and to wait on those youngsters who get diagnosed late in the year unless it's someone like Liam Miller who got pancreatic cancer. Of course, I still made a similar move that I did with Al-Baghdadi this time with Linda Nolan, so there's at least one lesson that I still need to learn. Still, it'll be interesting next year, especially since I share 12 picks with Death Impends and DDT, and an astonishing 14 with the Dead Cow. I'm honestly excited to see where this takes me to the second time around, but I think in a few years I will finally figure it out. Once again, congratulations on winning the DDP as you bow out next year Bert.

Hm. The committee does know how to snuff out old actresses in recent years, so Honor Blackman might become a hit this year base on that. I wouldn't put my money on it though...

I have actually heard of The Fall before the forum as I enjoy digging deeper into the music scene, and I have enjoyed what I heard from him.

Tbf, I'm not sure if The Fall has ever toured in Zimbabwe, so I'm not surprised Mugabe doesn't know him...

There are a lot of great teams, very diverse as well imo. I actually think this will be one of the hardest years to predict a winner. Lots of potential for many teams...

As discussed in the salvage lot thread, Kevin Carr was the person that a lot of us suspected. I think Steffan Lewis will obit, but he feels too early this year, though a good pick for 2019 imo...
