The only reason I'm hesitant to call it a hoax is because it wasn't the first time she talked about Jake LaMotta...

It does seem odd that someone would publicly announce someone's death, but not inform the media immediately afterwards.

If the LaMotta reports are true, then it's down to 5 people remaining.

I think it's probably true, but his family could easily ask for privacy for a while without mentioning his death.

My guess would be that he's legitimately dead, but her family wanted to have privacy for a while but his daughter didn't get the memo.

I believe it. Obits just won't arrive until later tonight or tomorrow. Jake Lamotta was a very interesting person, and I really want to see his biopic. I heard Robert De Niro did an excellent job of portraying him in the film. Not really unexpected, but still sad if true.
