Round one of chemo complete...

For some reason, I'm so used to Leslie as a female name despite knowing that Leslie Phillips is a man...

She did. From Wiki: Presented by Leslie Crowther (1984–8) Bob Warman (1989–90) Bruce Forsyth (1995–2001) Joe Pasquale (2006–7) Alan Carr (2017)

Yeah, further research shows that there's a U.K. version as well. I feel so embarrassed right now.

Lol. On his deathlist obituary, it said that he hosted the price is right. I haven't seen his game shows, but I know the price is right was hosted by Bob Barker, not Brucie. EDIT: Apparently there was a British show called the price is right as well, which he hosted, so that's embarrassing.

Mirror obit.

Currently 6/10 with my lot and a top ten appearance. I just checked mine. I suspect Manson will survive the year, but the other three are more 50/50 at this point.

Did another check and crossed out a few names who died since from that list. Anyone I missed from that list this time?

UFOs, Space Aliens and the like
Joey Russ replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I do believe that aliens exist, ngl. I think that it's extremely unlikely that we would be the only place in the universe that supports life. There's bound to be alien life somewhere else in the universe. However, I don't believe that the aliens are visiting us yet. I think that, at the moment, it would be extremely unlikely that aliens would come to earth right now. That would likely take thousands of years to actually make it to earth, and it means that they would likely have to reproduce in space and teach them how the spaceship works and stuff like that (they could be in a vegetative state, but there would have to be at least one being running the ship and making sure they don't get destroyed in space). So, while it's not impossible, I don't think the UFO sightings are real. Indeed, I believe if they actually came to earth, we the human race are likely goners... -
Yeah, that was what I was kind of thinking as well. DiMaggio had a lot more going for him than baseball, so people can easily recognize him, where as I can't say the same thing about Starr. Still, I think he could be one of those cult names in the future like Jake LaMotta, where many people may not know who he is (even with the release of Raging Bull for LaMotta), but those who do will understand his inclusion on the list. Still think that's unlikely though. I can't really comment on the Bart Starr thread thing, that probably happened before I joined the forum...

On the topic of Bart Starr (from the 10th death of 2017 poll), do you think he's deathlisty? He's guaranteed UK coverage, no doubt about that, and he has done more than your typical American baseball/football/basketball player. He's known to be in ill health as well, which is why I'm mentioning him, but do you think the committee will go for him? They did go for Joe DiMaggio after all...

It's been 3 months since Jacque Fresco's death.

Bart Starr? Though he wasn't a TV sports pundit, but he was named MVP for the first two Super Bowls, and then became a coach. That's the best I got...

Which of these religious heavyweights will go first?

I vote Billy. -
I must laugh, most of the list's acclaim was focused on the picks who weren't on the 2016 list. However, most of the hits so far were picks that actually on last years list, which had mixed reviews. That shows that those picks, along with the missed Pirsig, were picked one year too early (and many of them kind of felt that way in the first place anyways). What we actually got so far from the non-2016 list was that really old guy who was never in doubt, the criminal who took on the role of dying for the year, and the terminally ill boxer who was picked on all the contenders team. I suspect there's more to come, but I think more hits this year could be from 2016's survivors instead of the returnees/newcomers to the list...

Too late for Brucie?

Let's see if this works. If not, there's an issue...

@Deathray was that supposed to have a video, or am I missing a joke?

Not yet, there could be another hit in the next 13 days...

Keith Farnham was more likely to get an obit than him due to his scandal that was covered. He still got nothing in the end...

Yeah, but he was a coach of a well known school in the United States. Fisher, on the other hand, seems to only be well known on a local level...
